"Happy to take Michu on a pay as you play contract." His wages wouldn't be an issue (like Adebayor) . And a games played + goals target to give him an incentive to get a full contract would be fair enough.
Monk doesn't come across as a twat so if he refused to play Michu since April 2014 then it suggests there is an issue with him (he hasn't been injured all that time) so I would rather not have a player with an attitude problem introduced into the squad...but then again I am never right so WTF do I know?
If I ran football, I’d ban McCarthy for a very long time, maybe forever, for the tackle he made on Payet. It was a successfully calculated intent to injure. I’ve seen various discussions about two footed tackles. One leg can tend to swing around naturally, granted. In this case you can see McCarthy putting everything he has into scything that leg into Payet. There’s absolutely no excuse for it. If he were banned for a year or more, it would prevent the next player from taking out one of the best players in the league, which Payet has been. That would benefit football. I’m glad we had nothing to do with McCarthy.
Wayne Rooney appeared at last night's WWE show in Manchester - which is the first time he hasn't chased after a referee in Manchester, bawling in his face because he didn't get a penalty, in eleven years.
Another Championship manager gets the heave-ho. This time it's Gary Bowyer at Blackburn. I wonder if they might go for their ex-skipper Sherwood as replacement ??
How many of their title winning team are in management? I can only think of Henning Berg at Legia Warsaw
Well he's always enjoyed throwing himself to the floor theatrically, kicking other people and shoving officials. Perhaps a future as a WWE wrestler beckons...
Just heard on radio, our former keeper, Marton Fulop has passed away from cancer at the age of 32. . Rip.
That really is awful. I’m very sorry for his family, friends and loved ones. It’s terrible to lose someone so young.
I wonder if he was trying to be low-key about the illness, as I don't remember hearing anything about it before. Probably says a lot about the man's character that two teammates quoted in the BBC article about his death used the same phrase. Ben Foster and Danny Higginbottom both referred to him as one of the good guys. I think we'd all like to be remembered like that.
ManU now have their second victory of the season from an own goal, that's +4 points to them. Cue pundits drooling over their superb performance again.
