Wear the poppy with pride and gratitude.

So many lives lost in the World Wars to protect our freedom.

God bless them all. The ultimate sacrifice.

Specially for ER.

BEER AND POPPY SEED SOUP

  • 1 qt. beer
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 c. poppy seeds
  • 2 c. boiling water

Pour boiling water on poppy seeds, let stand about 15 minutes. Pour off water. Pulverize seeds in mortar or bowl. Add about 1 cup of cold water, gradually. Pour into beer which has been heated (not boiled) with honey. Garnish with lemon slices and croutons of rye bread lightly sprinkled with salt and caraway seeds.
 
Glad it's over for another year. Watching politicians, right wing media bampots and huns showing "respect" by trying to point-score over other people is one of the most pathetic things I've ever witnessed. The red poppy has now become the symbol of the self-righteous and the jingoistic.

Even the military got involved today - chief of staff using Remembrance Sunday to say Corbyn should not be PM.... classy
