As a Charlton fan at the moment I have run out of words to say, I have never seen a team play so poorly and really look like they dont care. I havent been able to get up to The Valley much this season but if we have been playing anywhere near as bad as the game I saw against Preston there is no way we are going to be able to turn things around. Last season we may not have been setting the world alight but we were at least able to hold our heads high and give things a good go and that meant that we could pick up a result which could kickstart another result and get you back on the road of good form. The question I ask looking through all of this is where does the blame lay? I mean there is people saying RD and KM are the reason we are failing as a club and you would have to be an idiot to argue they are not ripping apart the club we know and love but my problem lies with more than just this. But I dont care who is in charge of the club the players should where there heart on their sleeve and show passion because with this you will always be able to pick up results here and there and at least fight relegation. With the way we are playing at the moment there is teams such as Preston who have an unbelievably average team and they are looking like Barcelona. Without that drive installed to fight we have got to get ready for another spell in the 3rd tier of football. It will be interesting what peoples views are on this but personally my view stands with us being a awfully run club by an awful owner but even with this the players such as Johnny Jackson should be able to motivate that dressing room to at least give us fans something to watch. Realistically we are not going to be getting rid of owners anytime soon and I think we have now got to focus on getting the shambles of a team back to competing (not just rolling over), picking up points and getting the fans going because that is the only way I see us being able to turn out this situation. Rant over....
Welcome back, Rogans - a long time!! I think it starts and ends with RD. We can pick it apart further, and some will say RM has lay to blame somewhere, but I think it's so far past him these days (though it hasn't stopped him becoming a stooge). As much as KM has tried to dress it up - he still calls all of the shots in London (from Liege). He's setting the budget, he uses his scouting network, he hired KM (worst crime?), he hires the managers (I truly believe KM would have loved to avoid the Fraeye saga after last season) and it goes on. It scares me how much he pays KM to come up with things like the fans sofa, family day, and to pick out a new kit come May. The players - it's a tough one, but truth be told it's not their fault a large % aren't good enough. People like Sarr, Ba, Bergdich and Cebellos can't be blamed for picking up the paycheque. This then goes back to RD's ''trusted'' european network of scouts. Basically, I don't care for RD much. I love his money, but unless he's willing to change (I sound like a woman) then he can do one thing..
100% Roland. Replacing Yann with Peter Parsley was his opening gambit, and it's set the tone for his decision making.
80% that t1t Richard Murray 20% Duchatelet The rot set in long before RD. Murray's vanity got the better of him in his little war with Simon Jordan. He then followed Dowie in a short period with Reed, Pardew and Parky. There were loads of other errors too - the fans shares being reduced to nothing, paying the CEO over 500 grand a year (fact) when we were at the bottom of the Championship. Remember when our pitch kept flooding in 2012/3 ? Turns out that was Murray too - Rick E confirmed he vetoed spending money on the pitch drainage at a time when we were awash with PL money. Murray was also around when we sold to the Spivs, and his quote when we then sold to Douche was "our days of selling players to survive are now over" How many more mistakes can you make?
I am very worried about where Charlton are going from here to be honest. I look at the whole structure of the club and the way the fans for the first time since I have been a fan have turned against the club as a whole, I just wish I suppose to an extent the players would try and at least show passion on the pitch to show that not all faith is lost in the club and they do not seem to be able to. Its frustrating seeing the club go from the brink of turning things back in the right direction to now arguably being in a worse state that the time we were rotting in league 1. I look at all the talk of protests and I struggle to see the real benefit of them, is RD really going to take any notice and want to sell the club? In my eyes no because as long as he sees a grand plan from his side (whatever that may be) he will be holding onto the club and in all honestly I think he has such low respect for our fan base that he wont even notice whats going on. Its going to be a tough couple of years ahead in my eyes I just hope in the meantime whatever happens we do not end back up in League 1, its a painful place to be haha.
Not to worry, rogan. We may only be in League One for one season. League Two beckons, then the National League. Don't forget that Yeovil were a Championship side as recently as eighteen months ago, and are now bottom of League Two, so it cam happen. Is our current side really any better than their's was?
I hope so. A combination of the protests and other fans who are drifting away because of the poor football leaving empty spaces on the terraces must get through.
RD KM RM culpable and now sadly I add the players who of late have been lolly liveried wastes of space and not fit to wear the shirt virtually to a man . Diarra has been consistently decent for me when he's played the rest once we go behind give up
