Queens Park Rangers have agreed to let summer signing Ben Gladwin remain on loan at former club Swindon until the end of the season.

Rangers signed the midfielder from the Robins following their relegation from the Premier League but loaned him back to his former club in October, initially for a month, but that deal will now run on.

Gladwin joined QPR with Swindon team-mate Massimo Luongo in what looked like being part of the club's rebuilding process with a focus on developing players.

But confusion reigns at Rangers again with the focus shifting from Championship consolidation to promotion chasing and there is no room for Gladwin in a Rangers squad with the likes of Sandro, Leroy Fer and Junior Hoilett still left over from their big-spending days.

"We're well pleased," Swindon chairman Lee Power said about Gladwin's deal. "He's come back and everyone can see the quality he brings and every game he is getting stronger and stronger."

And there goes another youngster, not getting the chance to get himself Championship experience.

Colour me puzzled.
 
He was a make weight in getting Luongo, by the sounds of it pretty much a freebee as 'the amount' we 'paid' for him helped Swindon pay a very much reduced sell on free to the spuds, hopefully he will come good though, giving him a chance might help
 
Absolute joke of a decision considering how badly we're playing

This should be the season we're integrating him in the side ready to start next season.

im sure i read somewhere that he can play center half,mayb e thats his best position,he has looked out of position every where hes played for qpr,maybe he will eventually play in our back four

He scored 8 goals from midfield for Swindon last season, CB definitely isn't his natural position.

We could surely find a place in our midfield for him considering how poor we are in the middle of the park?

Tottenham's Andros Townsend has been left out of Thursday's Europa League tie with Anderlecht after clashing with Spurs fitness coach Nathan Gardiner.

Townsend, 24, was an unused substitute in Monday's win over Aston Villa and was pictured pushing and arguing with Gardiner on the pitch after the game.

"He did not train with the group. He is not available to be selected," Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said.

"It's because of Monday. If you behave the wrong way you always need to pay."

Townsend has yet to start in the Premier League this term and Pochettino preferred to bring on Ryan Mason and 18-year-old Josh Onomah in the second half against Villa.

"It's always my decision when he is available again to be part of the squad.

"Discipline for me is very important. I can understand the player - we have a young squad and a player can make a mistake - but when you cross the limit it is important to stop that.

"Has he apologised? Yes, he recognised it was a mistake," Pochettino added.

"I can understand because I was a player and when you don't play you're unhappy and sometimes your expectation is bigger than the manager provides you.

"But it was not normal behaviour. He is young and you need to understand that it isn't the way to impress the manager."

Pochettino stressed that Townsend, who progressed through the Spurs academy and made his first-team debut in 2011, does still have a future at White Hart Lane.

"All players have a future. It's up to them to have a future here. Football can change quick," he said.

"He is in the squad because we believe in him and believe he can give us very good things, but it is up to the player when he has the chance to impress me and show I am wrong in my decision."

QPR midfielder Ben Gladwin has signed a one month loan extension with Swindon Town.

The 23 year-old midfielder, who spent last month with the Robins, has agreed a deal until Thursday 3rd December.

Gladwin made five appearances during his initial spell with the struggling League One club, scoring one goal.

Under the terms of the loan deal, Rangers can recall Gladwin at 24 hours’ notice, whilst the midfielder won’t be eligible to play in the FA Cup.

Good news. Meaning a new manager can bring him back if he'd like.
 
So a one month extension, as opposed to Talksport saying he will be there until the summer...

That's the least exaggerated item of news from them in ages
