incorrect i do not come from devon, i come from englands premier borough shrewsbury. i have 2 homes 1 in wiltshire the other in glorious devon. to get to devon i have lived in ludlow, frenchay, bristol, hawkesbury upton, chipping sodbury, calne, and devon. i loved frenchay and watched first of all downs league soccer then alternately rovers and city, in the heady days 1959 - 1965
A bit rich criticising someone who comes from Devon when you come from a non-existant place. The Blue Half of Bristol.Ha Ha Ha. Blue tenth would be more accurate.
AJ is a Shropshire Lad originally and has had many a muckle all over this green and pleasant land in his long life and avid football fan.
really? city took less than 40,000 to wembley for the championship play offs not selling there full allocation. we took over 40,000 to wembley for a league 2 play off game which we won if you want to believe a "blue tenth would be more accurate" then go a head but you will be very much wrong how did over 40,000 fans look from your end when we stuffed you at wembley?? this video from a shrews fan facing our fans looks like quite a lot and we sound damn loud too
oh and by the way, harrold was quality tonight, scored against burnley and showed a quality 1st touch. didnt do anything wrong. looks like a great signing. he must be excited to be playing amongst quality players for once and he the service he needs
I have absolutely nothing against Harrold. He will always give you the maximum effort but you will soon find out that he will not score many. Ask any supporter of his previous clubs. Every club has it's fair weather supporters but even allowing for that:- Bristol population 400,000 plus----travelling support to Wembley 40,000 = approximately 1/10th. Using that logic Shrewsbury took over a third of its population to Wembley on that occasion.
Weak argument, Bristol simply has a larger catchment area. But KDS is right, as a percentage we took one third of our population. Looking at things this way, we totally outdid you. I mean, ONLY one tenth of your population?! That is poor, very very POOR!
in case i may have given the impression i am a rich beggar with 2 homes let me point out again, i come from shrewsbury, my main home is in wiltshire and i am temporarily staying in devon until elderly mater passes on to the meadow in the sky. delighted to hear matty h played so well for you and took a break from grass cutting and latrines duties. he will do well for you. just keep count of the missed opportunities. remember his sights are set on 2 corner flags rather than goal posts. still well done matty h, you may yet prove the wobblers and shrews wrong
Good luck to him, he probably didn't always get the greatest service at the shrews but as a tall fella he should have been able to deal with more incoming high balls than he actually did. I'd make sure you tape his hands shut before each game as he has great ability in getting the oppostion a free kick as he can't seem to understand the concept of "Pull oppositon players shirt when ref looking = free kick"
All he needs to do is hold ball up, lay it on to other quality strikers and score the odd goal. Simple really guys, he can be very effective without actually doing much at all. If we get promoted at first time of asking with him in the side, i wont be complaining.
That's the first time I've seen Chris write IF & not WHEN! You're either going to walk this league or you're not. Make your bloomin' mind up!
Blind arrogance. There is not one supporter of any club in League 2(apart from the gastropods of Brizzle) which does not concede that this will be an extremely difficult division to get out of this season. Examine the evidence: 3 strong relegated teams and if Plymouth get their finances in order they can be added. Crawley shed loads of money. Shrewsbury would appear to be in a good position (although debatable) Teams that have stengthened either with good new managers or influx of decent players-Rotherham, Northampton, Bradford City, Oxford, Port Vale, Gillingham Not to be discounted-Crewe, Southend,Aldershot If I have missed anyone, I apologise. If anyone thinks they are going to walk it, they are living in a dream world which magic's away debt and a brand new stadium appears, TARDIS-like, out of the ether.
no fun on here Rocky - these Shrews are trying to concentrate on getting up to where we are. have you guys worked out how Stevenage beat you yet?
