Usually after a defeat I'm over it 24 hours later. Not so this time. Brentford worked their goal well but apart from that, they were poor. Where does that leave us?! I keep going around in circles trying work out what we need to do to fix this. We've tried: - buying whole new teams. - managers with varying degrees of pedigree. - owners with tight financial reigns. - owners with passion and maybe less sense. - players who've broken the transfer record. - big name players - bargain basement players. - sports psychologists. - revamp of scouting. - flags to gee up the troops (that one worked!) - managers who retire on health grounds. - sacking managers. - 3:5:2 (2 games??) - having plan A - having no plan B - bringing old managers back as advisers. - fans cheering through thick and thin. - some fans booing as they feel is their right. - chucking huge amounts of money around. - football equivalent of austerity. - change of Chief Exec. - bringing in the youth - ignoring the youth you've brought in! I'm sure other will add to the list but I just cannot see what we need to do to turn this around. I really hope the clever chaps on the Board have an idea because I am just plain out of them. Can anyone offer any hope?
basically football is all about management origionally jim gregory did all the buying and selling it was him who used to be on fulhams board of directors,he brought to qpr les allen, rodney marsh and jim langley although qpr had already got there youth system up and running jim gregory brought in some fabulous tallent now we have tony fernades a really beautifull man but he really dosnt have any football brain at all his idea is lets sit down eat some chapaties but football isnt about that when les ferdinand failed to bring in gerry francis, les knew he was finished but hes just sat there and hoped and hope without nouse is no good at all when we had a chance to bring in mark warburtan we had a guilt edeged chance to return to the prem, dont forget warburtan had rebuilt brentford from nothing so its like that we have to gut qpr from the whole management regime because ferdinand has his sights set on maybe a four year nice little earner before he completely retires from football having fleeced us for a small fortune THE ANWER COULD BE TO TRY TO GET HOLLOWAY TO WORK ALONGSIDE WARNOCK OR TO BRING IN GERRY FRANCIS THESE GUYS ARE THE REALITY THEY ARE BATTLE HARDEND FORGET HOLLOWAY AT MILLWALL LOOK WHAT HE ACVED AT BLACKPOOL AND HOL.LOWAY HAS DONE IT ALL SO MANY TIMES BEFORE
So Holloway is the answer? Entertaining and honest post match interviews but I'm not sure that he will do it. He might, of course, but it's another gamble whatever they decide to do.
As I've said elsewhere on here, TF is the problem, as long as he flips like a flag in the wind we'll continue to implode. It's not dissimilar to when Flav was hiring and firing, once he was moved aside we actually progressed, someone needs to put a horse's head in Tony's bed, so to speak...
Whilst I agree that leadership sets the culture and ethos of any organisation, I'm struggling to see how changing just one factor or person is going to bring the success we all crave. I can't help wondering where we'd be today if Tango & Cash had sold to Amit as Chairman, Saksena as Chief Exec. and Mittal's billions in play. Perhaps that is the way forward even now?
How many more knee-jerk decisions do we need? Name one decision TF has made that has benefitted this club. Be it the team, the manager, the training ground or the stadium we are no nearer improvement than four years ago...
Bringing in Loic Remy. The flags at Wembley (if that was his idea). Keeping the badge - I happen to like it. I think the training ground at Warren Farm will actually happen but obviously speculative until ground is broken. I know it's not a very long list and I may be clutching at straws!
Bringing in Remy? Who didn't keep us up and then, when he could have made a difference, f*cked off to the Scum to get splinters in his arse?... I'll give you the flags, a nice touch... The badge is pants... Warren Farm is still a long way off, see the Air Asia thread...
TF has a put a lot of money in. Perhaps if he hadn't we'd be in the Conference now. But he has made bad Managerial appointments from the first sacking of Colin.
I've had considerable time to reflect now on this performance and I've drawn the following conclusions (similar to most on here) - A good manager knows how to react to certain situations in the game, be it with substitutions or a system change. It's here where Ramsey is exploited. He has no Plan B. - Brentford were there for the taking, and we took off Luongo who happened to look our brightest player in the final third. - Grant Hall has been superb for us when he's played - Nedum Onouha's defending for their goal was an utter disgrace. He's not a Captain, he's too top heavy, maybe stay out of the gym and work on your technique? - Why did we not snap WBA's hand off when they put in that bid for Matty Phillips? There has to be greater balance now between the usage of youth and experience. Or better yet, if CR doesn't think our youth are good enough then let it be known or move them on. Our academy has been failing for years, the last player we produced was Ray Jones, bless his soul. I find it difficult to comprehend that Harriman could not do a better job in this team than what's in front of him. Recall him and Ben Gladwin immediately and get them in the side. Both have got points to prove and will give everything, and our side could use some of that energy. I'd personally like to see this side take the field; Smithies Harriman, Hall, Hill, Kwapeka Luongo, Fer, Gladwin JET, Austin, Chery
