Classic McLaren McLaren @McLarenF1 1m1 minute ago The underlying signal problems on JB's engine have not been resolved. Therefore, he won't take part in quali. Our focus is now on the race.
Can't necessarily blame McLaren, more than likely Honda fault. Who ever at fault pity Jens wont be in quali.
It looks to be fate that Rosberg will get pole with Ham 2nd. Side by side into the first corner tomorrow...
Roll up, roll up, how many laps before the end does Rosberg crack and Hamilton go through for the win ........... ?
Unless the move is clearly on and he's able to complete it, think Hamilton will allow Rosberg to go into the first corner first... If he (Rosberg) punts Hamilton off, then he's signed his release from the team, they may have sewn up the WDC and WCC but Merc want to win all the remaining races besides, they won't be getting rid of the Golden boy Hamilton, be like cutting off your nose to spite your face! Rosberg is damned if does (and it doesn't come off) and damned if he doesn't try to defend his position.. Think the race could be a cracker between, just hope its not ruined at turn 1
Considering that the 1st corner is quite the distance away from the grid, it could be pretty mega with the speeds they'll be going.
Lewis quite upbeat and saying he's really going to go for it turn one. The pressure off for him and he and Nico are chipping away at each other. Although the racing has often been a bit predictable over the past couple of years - the competition and actual events involving Lewis in Nico has been very interesting imo. A real major, bitter rivalry which we haven't seen in a while. Looks set to continue
If both Mercedes get away well I expect Vettel to hang back and hope for a coming together. I'm hoping for a good race (obviously) with Vettel getting involved with the Mercedes.
Nico needs to let it go. He is still going on about his anger at the last race. Perhaps his anger at Lewis is to deflect himself from his anger at his own error which actually cost him the race. The best thing he could have done at turn one would have been to cede the place to Hamilton and then have the rest of the race to come back at him, not hang on grimly and lose three places. In the end it was irrelevant because he got himself back into a race winning position and then chucked it away. Everyone else talking about turn one has given him licence to keep using it as an excuse. Perhaps he should stop focussing on what Lewis is doing and focus on Vettel because that is his battle now. Or better still, focus on his own race and stop blaming everyone else for his shortcomings.
Completely agree. Its doing his image no favours. Quite a few people do not care for Lewis and his style and would happily lean to his opposition. Those people might want to rethink that now!
I don't think this will be amazing. Seb made it obvious he's looking for a clash between the two frontrunners. Nico and Lewis are professional enough not to let it go Seb's way.
What did the long run data look like in Practice? On face value for Seb to be within 3 tenths in quali bodes very well given Ferraris race pace on most Sundays. If any rain comes I think Ricciardo will win this- that Red Bulls front end is terrific and the less grip there is the bigger his chances become.
