Which striker, who can still play in Europe, would you buy this January?

Simple as that.

In the days pre-fergie, we would have bought Vardy in an instant. Then see him go 25 matches without scoring.

I remember watching Gary Birtles and Davenport bought from Forest and see them struggling to adjust to the huge crowd and to expectations. <ok>

I think in those days Davenport was the biggest disappointment for me, I really thought he would do it. That said, we were a strikers graveyard back then :(

The policy seemed to be "let's get the highest scorers in the league and get them to play up front". Managers like Dave Sexton, tommy Doc and to a certain extent Big Ron too.

Somehow we couldn't get a team out of these disparate "top" players.

The funny thing is that today's fans are bitter when we don't score in 3 matches. Until fergie came, we were a byword for inconsistency ! We would get beaten by Stoke, WBA, Derby Villa but then on a good day beat the RS. We were the biggest club but post Busby we were far from the top dog as any team on their day would come to OT and turn us over. Oh the good times :)

Yep, but perversely, I felt much happier after a win in those days than I do now :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I don't think it matters who we buy.. We could buy messi and LVG will single handedly turn him into the most depressing sight ever

Bafetimbi Gomis is class lads.

I'll drive him to you.

Just for comparisons sake, he seems as ****ing useless as Rooney in front of goal <wah>

Hi Guys, wonder whether you think loaning out Januzaj and selling Hernandez was a bit short sighted or do you think that it would not matter due to the formation van Gaal perseveres with?

I'd go after Aubameyang from Dortmund, he's the most in form striker in Europe currently, and he's lightning quick which is what we need.

Though if I was the manager the striker position wouldn't be an issue, as I wouldn't play our best one on the wing:biggrin:
