when you bid to buy something, you put in a low bid first to get the action started. arsenal and henri now know that lambert is keen on acquiring him. the ball is now in wengers court, and if they wish to sell will come back with a price greater than they hope to finally get for him. this is called bargaining for these people for whom this concept seems alien.
i doubt very much that he will go out on loan again. he will either be in wengers main plans or will be transfered as i doubt he would sign a new contract unless guaranteed first team action.
