I was at that semi-final too. I remember the Owls new, state of the art cantilever stand which was much admired. Great day out & a great trip home with another date for Wembley booked. Happy days!
It was great to see Dave Mackay lift the Cup against Chelsea after what he had gone through with two broken legs! Who would guess that he would leave us and put Brian Clough's name on the map......? I remember going to West Ham and watching a Dave less Spurs team going down 4-0 and hearing the news that Dave had broken his leg again in a reserve game.Talk about a low point!
The ground got a makeover for the 66 World Cup. Wednesday really benefited from this. But with their support, it's hard to fathom why they've been in the doldrums for so many years. They've wasted the advantage they were given.
A couple of weeks ago there were 130000 Rugby fans in Manchester on the same day and then a world boxing fight on later in the evening.
Liverpool managed to cling on to a 1-0 lead against Bournemouth tonight ...which makes Klopp 20% the manager that Poch or Pellegrini is, but I doubt that's what we'll be hearing from the usual suspects come the morning.
His post match interview was odd...praised his team for doing well especially as it was the first time many of them had played together as a team...(which is fair enough) but then he also said that they did well against a full strength Bournemouth side...full strength with their massive injury list? Maybe Brenda's talk bollocks bug is catching!
