Ill be left very disappointed if we brought him for £15m! 10 decent games... He's hot a purple patch atm and is playing well but at 28 and the way he plays has maybe a couple more good seasons. If he continued and scored 20 goals this year and starts next year in similar form then fair enough but buying someone based on not even half a season would be stupid...

so so expect us to attempt to sign him now

If Rodgers was in charge, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up signing him.

Don't need to worry about that anymore.

It will be.
That's your opinion. We have ours but we would know more about our club than you do. As I put above, it's not about what Liverpool consider him to be worth, it's his worth to Leicester and the cost of replacing him. He is worth so much more than 15 mill to us so why would we sell for that?

I'm not saying you should sell him for that - I don't see you being offered more than 15m

You're proving my point.

15m might seem a bit steep for you but it's just not worth the risk for us.

For instance, Charlie Austin scored 19 last season and QPR were rejecting bids of 15m despite having glass knees and being in the last year of his contract. Sometimes a player is worth more to one club than to another.

I'd probably agree which goes back to my point of different valuations. I'd say we won't consider a bit of that amount so if you're correct and that's the highest we get, I expect he'll be staying which would be great for us. If people like Andre Gray are costing 9 mill after one decent (not even great) season in the championship, Vardy is worth way more

Isnt he about 23 rather than 28 though.

Agree about out different valuations, to replace him you guys might have to buy 2 or 3 players because you might need to change whole set up of forward line so you'd be wanting enough to enable you to do that.

Probelam comes if bigger (no disrespect) clubs come in which will give him a chance of playing in Europe and being a regular in England team as he may see it as his last shot and he seems the type to kick up a fuss and try get his way.

He can kick up a fuss all he likes, but he won't be leaving til our valuation is met. I personally wouldn't take less than 28-30m, but I think the club would accept 23-25m.

unfortunately not always as simple as that though...

the valuations are definitely different which is why I say I could take him kicking off to force it. I'm in two minds as to whether he would. One side says he has had a different route to football then some of the others (Sterling/Berehino etc) and so could be more modest and be happy at Leicester. The other side says he does have a firey side and if he wanted to move, he might kick off. I think as I said above, the tide has changed slightly with the Stones and Berehino failed transfers where the players kicked off and the clubs didn't give in. I think possibly this and the difference in valuations gives us hope we won't lose him. I'm level headed enough as a Leicester fan to say his market valuation is nowhere near ours and can see why you would say 15 million but that doesn't change the fact we should not sell for that. Gray is younger I guess, with Vardy he seems to be in his prime

Double it, and i'm serious. Even then i'm not sure i'd be happy to sell.

He's integral to the way we play and (in my opinion) is irreplaceable for us.

Might not be worth 30m to you, but it'd probably mean a complete reshuffle in the way we play as well as buying a replacement. We wouldn't be able to do that with 15m.

I don't think Vardy is worth that much (your claim) but he is worth it to Leicester. He's settled and scoring goals which will help sustain PL football. That's worth more than £30m alone!

In what way?

He's recently signed a long term contract so we have no obligation to sell. He's our player until the valuation is met. It's as simple as that.
Signing a long term contract means very little - it certainly isn't an indication that the player will stay and honour that contract.

Ranieri, like a lot of managers, has said he doesn't want players staying who aren't happy to stay so it remains to be seen how the rest of the season pans out and if indeed there are any clubs interested in him at all and if he wants to go. As mentioned by others, he's far more valuable to you than any price you can get for him but whether he stays or goes, he won't be the first or last player to be in this particular situation.

No one will buy Vardy at the price he's worth to Leicester because in reality, he's not worth that much to anyone else.

He'll only move if he throws a tantrum at a bigger club's bid being rejected having not met the club's valuation. Is he that kind of guy? Who knows, he's never been in a position where top teams are looking at him.

All seems very simple to me.

If he becomes disrupted and form dips dramatically because of it then obviously is to a detriment.
