Crucial positions;

GK because we need a keeper who play in a high line and start quick attacks

RCB for obvious reasons

DM/CM to protect the defence and provide more quality on the ball in the midfield

Wide forward/Striker to add pace and dynamism to the front line.

I'd upgrade more positions than just the three I listed but I feel like one of the major problems under Rodgers was trying to change too much too quickly. Instead of spreading out the transfer kitty on every position that can be improved we need to focus on two or three impact areas. Invest more into fewer areas.

Three years of quality purchases would replace almost the entire first team after 3 years.

When we throw little bits all over the place trying to improve everything at once like Rodgers did we end up getting 8 New players each season and maybe only 1 or 2 at tops are worth keeping. It will take 5 to 10 years to get a complete first team of quality that way (longer because the rare gem we get will want to leave).

That's why we're stuck with players like Origi, Lovren, Lallana and Benteke... We spread the cash around instead of going for quality.

I don't disagree, spend properly on a couple positions. Just the positions I think need improving are CB cm and wide forward rather than a GK and CF. Mig takes a lot of stick but he's not a bad keeper and has kept us in countless games.

Absolutely, he's not getting the credit he's due. Another keeper shouldn't be a priority for us.

Shot stopping should be bread and butter for a keeper. It's things like commanding the area, distribution, leadership which sets keepers apart.

I think it is a priority because we need a keeper who is used to starting in a higher position and start attacks quickly - it's crucial.

And yet a lot of keepers aren't very good at it... His reactions are second to none and that's what makes him a better keeper than average at shot stopping.

Not disputing his shot stopping - it's brilliant. But that's only one element of goalkeeping. We need to upgrade.

I suppose the priority of upgrading that position is subjective, but he Deffo needs replacing.

Agree on this, when collecting the ball he often looks to release early but rarely does

Is it April 1st already? A Laurel and Vardy piece:

http://metro.co.uk/2015/10/25/real-...rfect-january-transfer-target-report-5460652/

Real Madrid are interested in a January transfer move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish giants are set to enter the market for a new forward and Vardy’s form has not escaped their attention.

The England international, 28, has scored 10 goals in 10 Premier League matches this season and his sensational form has not gone unnoticed.

And Fichajes have astonishingly reported that Real are considering signing Vardy to provide competition to Karim Benzema.

They believe he would be an excellent second striker to challenge Benzema for a starting spot.

And as he’s not played in Europe, they could register him for the Champions League in January.
