It's an absolute joy to see racing back at Cheltenham as that can mean only one thing............the NH season is starting to move up a gear!

My biggest bet of the day is BALLYKAN in the 3.55. I loved the way this one jumped at Chepstow and, of course, Nige likes to have a winner or two at his local track so here's hoping!
My other strong fancy is ROCK THE WORLD, who was undone by the ground last time but has some solid form whilst I would keep an eye on DEFINITE RUBY in the Amateur race for Gordon Elliott. He has a good jockey, in this sphere, up top and has run well at the track before. He looks a good e/w bet at 12/1.

Good luck to all and let's hope all the horses come back safe!

I like Qewy, fair to say last years Supreme was a decent affair. Gets a decent chunk of weight from all his rivals and could be an interesting recruit to fences.

Bob im rewatching this for the 2nd time round just now and about to finish season 1 - don't know what it is about the show but its just brilliant all the way through you end up watching 3/4 episodes at a time.

Of the 71 runners how many were "credible" and genuine contenders?

Maybe today will be the day though!

2.10 Cheltenham Robin Of Locksley 25/1

I really fancy this one to outrun its odds. It has much more scope for improvement and although in at the deep end here, will be an interesting one to keep an eye on now switched to the highly regarded Dan Skelton.

Has won a 3m Point so won't be lacking for stamina- ran a highly creditable 2nd to Anibale Fly in his one bumper start for Martin Hassett, which was over 2m. He saw off the rest of the field including a half-decent Gigginstown yardstick, but Anibale Fly had a bit more speed late on, which was to be expected. I don't know how he has schooled but if he can jump well, I'd fancy him to make a decent fist of this up in trip around a track that should play to his stamina strengths.

A bit of a longshot but I'll take a chance.

Dai Burchell on the other hand is three from six! Anyone backing his two 100-1 shots today?

    Others to avoid;
    N King 0-10
    R Woollacott 0-13
    Dr R Newland 1-38
    Mrs C Keevil 0-20
    Mrs S Leech 0-20
    C Mann 1-22
    H Oliver 0-7

Spot on I would say TC. The much maligned THE NEW ONE who so many seem to forget gave the Irish Banker, PONT something or other, a proper good shoeing at the 2013 Festival...!

Moon Racer won the bumper at this meeting last year and then followed up at The Festival in March but, yes, TNO also won at both in the season he won The Neptune in such breath taking fashion.

It's all about sandymount duke for me today in what looks a pretty hot race. If he obliges expect rock the world to get smashed off the boards.. Also fancy polamco, Vicente and savelo . I could be leading the ten to follow for a short time, but dont think I should be worrying the leaders for the rest of the season.
    Cheers!.

    Afternoon All !

Well this is interesting, I'm happy to admit I'm an absolute, complete novice where jumps are concerned, so I'm taking in all your enthusiasm and knowledge.
As for today, well, I think I'll have a few each way pennies, as I've been paid, on the following:

    SHIPYARD 3.10@Doncaster

    MR SHANTU 3.20@Cheltenham

FA CUP starts tomorrow, home v Lincoln City :) !!!

Pity Sizing Codelco has came out as the prices have cut up badly now with R4's awaiting bets done prior to the withdrawal.

Shout Nass...Very tidy performance by PP there beating some useful yard sticks, I was unsure about the stamina issue with him there but he returned a nice price given he was as short as 6/4 this morning.
