You're just as bad as whisky ****s ...

Naw, worse as yer fae north Lanarkshire!

****

<laugh>

Not true. I don't tell ****s to spend 20 bucks on cndp when a Pinot Noir at a fraction of the price is every bit as good.

These whisky/whiskey ****s run around telling everybody to spend a fortune on aged crap.

Here's a load of old pretentious bollocks for yeese:

Speyside Malt 38 yo 1977
Nose: really nice, quite a lot of straight oak but in a beautiful way. A lot of cinnamon, fresh oranges and some orange blossom, cardamom. Cedar wood. Big minty notes, hints of eucalyptus. Some waxy notes. Apple peelings and mirabelles. A slight oriental hint as well, with a little tobacco and incense. Mouth: quite wood-driven again, including a light sour touch. Ginger, walnuts, lemons and Seville oranges. The tobacco returns. Aniseed and plenty of herbal liqueur. Coconut. Finish: medium long, minty and oaky, with hints of fruit tea.

Ye need mirabelles. I don't know what they are but surely ye must need them?

François Cotat, Les Culs de Beaujeu, Sancerre, Loire Valley, France 2011

This is not your usual Sancerre but truly delicious all the same. The nose presents a slightly reduced character with superb notes of beeswax, dried flowers and truffles with nuances of greengage, nettle and sage on aeration. The palate is suave to start but also very energetic, with a refreshing acidity and a beautifully long and mineral aftertaste. It is a stunning wine and a white that will benefit from being decanted – ideal with a roasted wing of skate served on a bed of orzo.

Has anybody tasted Laphroag?
It is ****ing rotten. Tastes like TCP.

I was in Crete and got talking to a young couple at the hotel bar. He was RAF and they had just got engaged. Anyhoo he started banging on about single malts and how her Da was a connoisseur of the stuff. He had purchased a lovely single malt at duty free Heathrow and did I want to try it.

So they went to fetch the nectar and me and the missus went to our apartment to tidy up as they were coming to ours. We had a verenda that you could have landed a helicopter on.

It turns out that the said super dooper single malt was Lephroag. I had never drank it before. He wis telling me how peaty it was and all that ****e.

I tasted it and nearly spat it out. ****in boggin. The better half is slapping me about the napper. The she tasted it.

She agreed with me.

I like The Froig. Peaty and intense, with notes of Fangtastics, Macaroon bars and Hemp, with hints of Juicy Fruit, Wotsits and Will O the Wisp.
