15 years ago was last time I went to a nightclub and around here there was so much smoking in them the whole air was thick and... Well... Smokey. It was usually 3 or 4 days before my hair no longer smelled like cigarette smoke. No amount of washing could cleanse it. It was always the same too. 200 single teen boys with fake IDs trying to pick up the 5 girls in the joint. The 5 girls there were always there on a girls-night-out and wanted nothing to do with boys. Even though smoking is probably banned in them here now too... Still would never go to one. Not just because It would be creepy for me as a 30-something to be in a night club... But generally because there would be nothing at one that would interest me anymore.
Well... I'm married so I have that... and if I were single I don't think I'd have much interest in 19 year old girls... ...they look nice but the vast majority are annoying whinebags.
Most people wouldn't go and find a girl in a club for a long term relationship though, you go find a girl that you want to bang then never seen her again
It is funny though... When I was 16-19 working in the mall as a part-time job is get hit on all the time. Mostly by 40 year old women. (actually I did date a couple of women significantly older than me during university days). Now I'm on the slide side of 30. When I get hit on in public or overtly flirted with... It usually is girls about 18-21. Its quite weird.
Go to a small non-tourist town where they don't get many foreign visitors. Some ladies will act like you're a rock star. It's actually quite annoying though having the same conversation 20 times a day. (my accent has faded a little over 20+ years so only get asked a couple of times a day now) "Oooh. I love your accent say that again" "Errrmmmm...' To go please'" "That's so cool. Anna come listen to this guy talk. Tell Anna what you just told me." "Can I just have my order to go please." "How pretty. I love how you talk. Are you from Ireland/Scotland/Australia/London/Korea?" "No I'm from England" "That's in London right?" "Sure. Can I just have my food please." "Oh I love how you talk. You must love all the attention from the girls." "..." I can't count how many times I've had a variant of the conversation above. Worse is in the grocery store. You get a queue of angry looking people behind you who want to go home but "you" are holding up the line.
Nah... It's frequently the ugly or dimwitted ones that openly gush like that. Wouldn't want to take them home. Even attractive girls appear less attractive when they force me to have that same conversation about my accent. A girl telling me she liked my accent meant I would never date her. (or do anything else with). Being on a date with a girl saying "say that again" is a horrible experience. Only thing worse are the ones who ask where you're from and when you explain English they say "oh cool. Me too my family is 'Scotch'-Irish". Half the people in America think they are 'Scotch'-Irish because there is rumours one ancestor was from one of those two countries. Even black people have told me they are scotch-Irish.
I've never been into one night stands. A couple of times when younger slipped into them but it's never really been a target for me. I don't usually have much interest in sleeping with girls if I don't like their personalities.
Fair enough. I still go occasionally simply because I want a few more beers and enjoy the company with my mates - don't want to go home. I've rarely actually enjoyed clubbing - its usually slightly below par even when I was 19/20. I used to go to rock clubs back in the day - they were an exception to the rule. They were quality but the scene is dead now. I'm 27, approaching 28 and do feel old in a club to an extent - but also a bit more cocksure and don't have to tip toe around some 20 year old slag. She can come to me if she's interested - I'm primarily here for the beer!
