We bring him over to the Prem from his slum in Ireland and give him the opportunity to make a name for himself and this is how he treats us??
Im visiting a mate in West Brom next month for a night out. I pray i bump into him, ill kick his ugly pasty skinned head all around Birmingham <grr>

Slum!!!! Try coming over here to realise what total uneducated drivel you have just spewed.

I already have mate & I know what the Creggan is like.
It was an all expenses paid trip but not much of a ****ing holiday. <ok>

Billy boy, you should know better. I will only comment when there is dung being spouted, especially sectarian dung. Derry is a very different city from when you may have visited it. Remember lad when you where here you were an unwanted visitor hence the resentment and before anyone try's to take any moral frigging high ground here about the forces learn your history before you spot drivel! Most of you will know I'm fortunate to know both sets of traditions and indeed have met young McClean and he has been nothing but a gentleman. I don't agree with his actions today but wish some would stop with the sanctimonious/sectarian tripe they are spouting to suite their own agendas.

Not attempting to take any 'moral frigging high ground' Derry..... But the fact remains McClean is a Grade 'A' dick !!

It's a game of opinions !!

There is mate. A lot more to it than that.

It has nothing to do with his football ability (or lack of it) but more to do with his personal affiliations.

He alienated himself from the fans on Remembrance Sunday with his showing of contempt for the servicemen who gave their lives in defence of this country. He may be right, he may be wrong. It`s not for me to judge.

I would say though, whatever his beliefs, he was wrong to bring religious/political views on to the football field. That is where the rift began.

Pops you could have a point but you have to remember that the act of rememberence and the poppy are a very politicised thing over here. It has been taken over by certain sections of the community as their day no matter how right our wrong you think it is, this is fact. It is something that saddens me deeply as anyone with a brain cell will know many Irish men nationalist/rebublican and unionist died in the wars.

Mate I've nowt against you at all. In fact I think you are a canny lad.
It's good to know that things have moved on in Londonderry. I wish peace on you all.
Thing is though, Sunderland dragged that provo **** from the dregs of the Irish league & gave him his chance.
I don't find his behaviour offensive but rather very disrespectful.
He go's out of his way to push his political beliefs to the forefront & revels in the controversy he causes & deliberately brings it on to the football pitch.
Why doesn't he keep his political opinions to himself instead of pushing it on the public domain given every opportunity?
You've met him I haven't, nor do I want to. I'm glad we're shot of the thick twat.
Anyway, god bless & I wish you well.

And your's is based on a lad that takes abuse both on the pitch and off it (social media) by certain sectarian bigots who spout the same Neanderthal crap that serves no purpose other than to encourage the weak minded idiots.

This is it Billy, he has never once proclaimed to support the PIRA. If only you could have seen the sectarian sh£t leveled at the lad on social media you might understand why he has reacted. Foolish? Yea maybe, but look on it this way if someone slagged your culture/upbringing/religion or something close to you how would you reacte?

I'm not gonna get dragged into a political debate with you mate, I'm a bit pissed & don't want to upset anybody.
I like you & I'd like you to post more. Let's keep politics out of sport though eh?

I`m struggling to answer this tbh.

I buy a poppy and I wear it. That is an act of thanks for those who gave their lives for all of us. Whether they were British, Irish, Scottish, Canadian, French, Australian or American is matterless. They all gave everything they had.

McLean is here to play football. That`s all.

Going to leave this alone now. Getting a bit stewed.

Wind your neck in you fecking b€llend.
Its well known McClean was bought up in a rough area im not saying all of Derry is like that!
Every town and City in the country has its good and bad parts for fecks sake!

Are you for real? His actions speak louder than words. FWIW I think there's been an overreaction to a former player giving fans a bit of stick. Mind you, he is a vile individual.

I couldnt give a **** what he did yesterday. I understand why he has his beliefs and where they stem from. What gets on my goat is the fact that he is willing, and allowed, to make a fortune in a country that he doesnt exactly care much for (i can just about forgive him for the poppy but turning his back on our flag/national anthem just takes the piss). his hypocrisy is mind blowing! if he doesnt like us, fine, but can he please just **** off and insult us from the confines of another country.

Some are taking the stick given to McClean as an affront to a section of the Irish people. This is not the case..McClean has shown nothing but disrespect for Sunderland AFC and never misses an opportunity to have a go at us. I agree that some of the stick he gets in order to get back at him could be construed as being generic though.
