He go's out of his way to cause controversy mate.
Basically, he's thick as ****.
That, I agree with 100%. But the fans, having given him **** all game, should accept the tiniest little bit of grief at the end of the game since he was on the winning team after all.

Why were your fans having a go at him anyway, just for being an ex-player?

No it's a lot more than that for me but I'm not getting dragged into all the political stuff.

Aye I appreciate that you will have a personal view of him on that basis <ok> I share your opinion of him tbh.

Don't think he's wronged Sunderland though, in fact he saved you from relegation. SO maybe the fans should show some class before asking him to do the same?

He is a **** by all accounts but anyone getting upset about this is being a bit of a precious Mary imo.

You lot love Borini for giving us ****, is there a difference?
It's a storm in a teacup for me, he's just a normal lad at the end of the day and what he did was provocative at worst.

Graham and Cattermole's reactions were also petulant and unprofessional, do you lambast them equally?

You'd only have to tell Catts he'd parked his car at an angle for him to kick off.

The impression given on Sky about McClean getting close to the fans wasn't quite so true. I'm guessing he must have said something that made Graham react.

I don't excuse any **** behaviour JC, theirs or ours.

What McClean hasn't learned yet is how to behave when you win as well as lose.

What he's lacking is self-respect and dignity.

It's true, there was perhaps a lack of class on his part. Not enough to upset anyone really though. And it was provoked by Sunderland fans for no apparent reason. I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon against him this time (as I have done in the past).

Spelled brains wrong there mate.

Not being funny mate but what brings you as a geordie to have an opinion on this?
Im not saying what your saying isnt true, but put yourself in our shoes? Imagine if Cabaye reacted that way?
He didnt leave as a hero otherwise hed have been given respect. He was pretty much disliked by most fans after his 2nd season with us.
Looking at the bigger picture the only other club that wanted him from a shyte irish league when we signed him was Peterborough so abit of respect from him wouldnt go amiss!

Respect is a 2 way street though isn't it? I always find it strange when people expect footballer's to somehow act differently than any other person just because of how much money they make. He only gave yous a bit of jip because he got 90 minutes of abuse. It was a fair and subdued, if slightly undignified, response imo.

Walking off the pitch in a dignified way and an example to the kids thay were watching as a highly paid footballer was the right way to go about things.
Preferebly reminiscing about playing infront of 100 fans in Ireland.

Anyway lads, that's phase 2 of the Sunderland survival schedule completed. Tune in next week for phase 3.

Appoint new manager - TICK
Lose first game - TICK
Beat Mags -
Poor/patchy form for the rest of the season -
One late surge of 9 or 10 points from 12 to secure survival -
Very perceptive indeed it gonna be a <party> for one of us

Appreciate your point and view but can't agree mate.
I like when footballers show a bit of human, rather than being robots. He may have gone about it the wrong way but it's understandable given the uncalled for abuse from the away end.

A few boos here and there? Thats part and parcel of playing against an ex club!
Like i said footballers are a hero to some kids. Theyre paid a fortune to act like a proffesional!

No it isn't from a professional international footballer - hes a disgrace at best - perhaps he would be accepted on the dark side - they have history.

I'm with our Mag chum like, if we grief someone for the duration, and he reacts, then we take it on the chin.

he's a ****ehawk, but I can't grumble with a reaction, seems it was fairly tame anyway.

Im not going to repeat myself. How anyone can see that as an ok thing to do is beyond me <doh>
