I really didn't understand this thread, so I had to read it thrice.

Today, you can call me mad, but I really like Kauto Stone on his seasonal reappearance for the Pauling yard. He has dropped to a lovely mark, and in some races over the past two seasons he has looked as if he retains plenty of ability. He has just been overfaced in the past, and that changes today. 10/1 is a fair price to see if he is well handicapped.

I have also backed Spirit Of Shankly today.

Agree on Kauto Stone Nass, read an interview with Ben Pauling yesterday where he thinks the horse fell out of love with the game because he was permanently getting hammered in Grade 1 races. IF (and it is a big IF) Pauling has managed to rekindle his enthusiasm then 10/1 could look massive.

I like Southfield Royale in that novice chase but it feels like a race to watch rather than bet on <ok>

I see that Cocktails At Dawn has been raised a whopping 8 lbs for his win at Cheppers on Saturday. That is going to make life difficult for him in Paddy Power’s Gold Cup. Incidentally, he’s now gone up a total of 20 lbs now in just 2 races!

Still I would never be one to underestimate either Mr Henderson’s brilliant brain or ‘magic hands’.

Got a bit of time on my hands today hopefully so might have a few bets, first up Alquffaal 1:30 - don't think this race will take a lot of winning and therefore could go to this newcomer who has a derby entry, bit of market support so I'll take 7/2

Southfield Royale in the next - moderately sized bet for a wet and miserable Berlin afternoon

    Bellamoi 9:15 Kempton

From the Mick Appleby barn, backed from 14/1 to 3/1 in places, previous form :-

    05Sep15 Thi 8GS C4Md 6K 9-0 6/8 (7¼L Bipartisan 8-11) 100/1 Andrew Mullen
In rear, effort over 3f out, never a factor (op 66/1 tchd 100/1)

    19Aug15 Kem 12St/Slw C5Md 3K 9-0 7/8 (35L Return Ace 9-0) 50/1 Luke Morris
Always in rear, weakened 2f out, eased and tailed off

    04Aug15 Rip 10Gd C5Md 3K 8-12 6/6 (56L High And Flighty 8-12) 50/1 Andrew Mullen
Stumbled soon after start, behind and soon pushed along, lost touch 6f out, soon tailed off

    01Jul15 Thi 8GF C5Md 2K 9-0 9/9 (29L Calima Breeze 9-0) 25/1 Andrew Mullen
Slowly into stride, last and pushed along, behind final 3f (op 33/1)

Timeform Comments Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, sixth of 8 in maiden at Thirsk (8f, soft) 39 days ago. Difficult to recommend.

I wonder if it's stable money or are the crookmakers taking the Mickey?

Will probably need the run but Caroline Mould's Robinshill at 25/1 has got to be worth an e/w dabble in the next at Wetherby

Seriously hope Barney gets a double G & T tonight once the minions have served him up his 3 course supper...the enigmatic West Wizard is being taken from Seven Barrows to be trained by Twister <yikes>

Expect the phrase 'perfection cannot be improved upon' to appear in the great man's views on this <laugh>
