...and no massive surprise, really, considering he seems to have become this season's Luciano Becchio! In fairness to him, he's no use to NornIron sat on our bench, he needs to be playing to retain match-fitness, sharpness and his impressive goal scoring form. I just wonder if his 'playboy' attitude and disciplinary record may hold him back - but he's wasted festering on our bench or sat in the stands. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...y-considers-norwich-future-ahead-of-euro-2016
I wish we would give him more of a chance. I didn't want us to sign him, and thought we should have sold him on or loaned him out. He has changed my mind. He can't do much more. If AN continues to leave him out, can't blame him wanting to leave. Would be a big shame, as we are struggling for goals, and he's a goalscorer.
From a selfish perspective I would be nervous only having 3 strikers in the squad. I agree he needs a chance and if we're going to sell a striker in Jan it would probably be Grabban
I know we're merely fans, but I too would like him to be given more opportunity to play, but he's behind Jerome and Mbokani, so can't blame him for wanting to leave. I'd prefer Grabban to go, as I don't feel he'll score many goals for us!!!!
Completely understand Lafferty's point and don't blame him putting it out there. He's done so well for Norn Iron probably because he's so fresh with no pesky club games getting in the way.
I don't blame him either, at least from the outside it has appeared his appetite and attitude has been spot on. I think he really wanted to get his chance to play in the PL, that doesn't look like happening here so good luck to him else where, though I doubt that will be a PL club Bah!
Spot on General - I agree that he could make a difference to a top half Championship side though. He just needs to curb his tendency to go in for rash challenges and get himself a yellow.
I don't think anybody did, but thanks for confirming how little you know about upper-echelon football!
Sucking on lemons since May's abomination! Thankfully we somehow survived, to ease the pain of your success, and are having a much better season this time around
I'm surprised it took Lafferty as long as it has to reach this conclusion. At best 4th choice in a single striker system, and was deemed surplus at a lower level than we're at now. It'd be nice if he could come in and fire us to Premier League safety, but despite his international form he's not convincing Neil on the training ground. If all our strikers were low on confidence I could see him coming in on the back of scoring regularly, but at the moment the level that those goals are coming at isn't something to get too excited about. Faroe Islands, Hungary, Greece, Finland aren't Premier League standard, or arguably championship.
