West Yorks - North of Leeds but quite safe.
I see this person is now coaching with his mate Kewell our under 21s:

He was involved in a cleared in a violent assault on a student at my University some years back

It is common knowledge up here that Woodgate took the rap for the others and that Bowyer behaved like a mindless thug. The ( Asian) student was beaten unconscious and had numerous bite marks over his head face and neck.

Bowyer then paid £170k damages in a civil action where the 'burden of proof' is deemed less:

Enough said.

Then we had the farcical fracas with his own teammate at Newcastle:

Enough said.

I wonder what is going on at the Vic? I for one have no time whatsoever for this man.

I am not a reader of this newspaper.. but a hornet supporter on FB posted it .... there is a further article here revealing the shameful racist violence of Bowyer and his mates

http://socialistworker.co.uk/art/6973/Leeds footballers trial: Sheer racist thuggery

Terrible....

Reading that has made me feel sick and very angry, I didn't like him before reading that, but now I feel utter disgust. No wonder they're known as dirty Leeds, Revie's Leeds were angels in comparison!

I see comments are closed on the Wobby report. At best an "interesting" choice. I'm not moved to write to the club myself but I certainly understand the feeling. Bowyer should not be denied the opportunity to earn a living in football. If he misbehaves then he can jog on, pronto, and the authorities can re-evaluate the situation. He will know that he is probably in the last chance saloon already.

Hugely disappointing. I try hard not to become too disillusioned but there are some things I just don't wish to be associated with, however distantly...he's one of them. Some things you can put down to youthful exuberance; others are motivated by deep-seated prejudice which might be possibly be repressed but rarely disappears. If I was an employer, which I'm not, I might believe people should get a second chance but I'm less convinced in this case I'd be the one volunteering to provide it.

Fair point....

Unlike Deeney and King to a degree, for whom I did support rehab., Bowyer seems to one of those who are/have been actively nasty and racist......

Lets just hope he only passes on positive thoughts to the youngsters.

Does he have many ;) Of course he was a half-decent player...so he can offer something to others.. and he has his coaching licence.... .

Goodness me, glad to see you involved again Nick. I happen to agree with you, and do not like Mr. Bowyer, so agree with others on that point. Can he be all bad though as he has been living in France?

A mate of one of my son's is in the forces. He was stuck on some far flung outpost and they passed the time making up horrible cocktails - worse one they came up with was:-
Treble Gin
Bottle Smirnoff Ice
Topped up with Red Bull
They called it a Lee Bowyer - as it was a horrible little cu**

Looks like the Aussie brought him in. Not That I want Bowyer there, the above coment that wasn´t meant to rile was just in passing. Like Troy has shown, everyone can become reformed....Bowyer is another kind of nastyness though....

I´d be interested to hear the reply, if you got one from the club Yorkie...

Nick, the Mexican air at altitude is sometimes crisper at this time of year, down to 11 some nights now, maybe that is it! <laugh>
