Some awesome defending from OZ, fair play to them, we could not break through, though George North should have scored a try, just should have gone for the straight line to the flag, instead of cutting inside, big mistake which could have changed the game.................<ok>

Ireland taking a huge battering in the contact area from France so far. Sexton gone off injured already.
 
Now they've lost O'Connell as well. A lot of bad luck of this game for Ireland.

The French have been brilliant defensively. Some massive hits.

I think if Sexton & O'Connell are out of the rest of the tournament that will be your hopes of winning over.
 
It would be nice if our lads could hold on to ****ing simple catches when we actually break through the line! Won't keep getting chances like these....

Sexton a bigger miss than O'Connell. Henderson not a bad replacement. Sean O'Brien will be banned for next match for that utterly stupid punch.
 
How did the groups work? Only that in NZ group only seemed to be 1 decent team and England's group they had 3 and the other 2 had 2.

Seems like theyve done done what they do in cricket and split the big 8 out so 2 big teams in each so they should all go through to the QFs but messed up when it came to England's group

Wales were 9th in the rankings when they made the draw, which meant we were in pot 3. So England just got unlucky really.

In fact in England's group 4 teams are all in the top 10 (Fiji being number 10)

Also you do Argentina a disservice who are ranked as the number 7 and are in NZ's group.

But yes like cricket they try and split the Tier 1 nations across the groups, based on their current ranking at the time of the draw. However the draw was made about 3 years ago and since then the rankings have changed and nations that were having a lull have risen back up again (Australia) whilst other teams have dropped down.

Surely you can't score against the big foam bag like that... How are you meant to defend that you can't get behind it!
 
I'm going to guess that the All Blacks are gutted at this result. They'd much rather be playing Ireland than France, imo.
