I would contend however that Townsend is a player whose performance could be massively improved by coaching: somehow when he plays for England he doesn't seem to have the pressure to perform, so relaxes and his skill shines out. Playing for us he always seems to be trying to hard.

It's worse than that, he always tries pretty much the same thing. It very rarely, if ever, comes off, but he keeps trying!...

As for coaching, if he hasn't got it into his thick head by now, I doubt he ever will.

Another damning indictment of the way football is covered in Britain: we're missing three of our five first-choice midfielders at this point in time, picking up results yet getting no credit for it.

Now picture if it was any of the Sky Four + 1...

Well said and how true. If Liverpool do well against us it will be all about the Klopp factor and nothing to do with our midfield not being available.

And the Cubs have won two post season series in the same year for the first time in their 140 year history. They still need to win one more to reach the World (sic) Series for the first time in 70 years. The best part is this was their first post-season series ever (after 2,336 games) with the rival St. Louis Cardinals, who are as much winners as the Cubs are losers.

In other good news, Belgium is on track to be first in the world for the first time, with Toby and Jan starting again in a win against Israel.

A day of sunshine & wine. It's a shame Spurs are not playing today.

Cyprus came very close to getting into the playoffs for the Euro finals losing 3 -2 to Bosnia. This would have been the first time for this football crazy island.
