http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...hind-northern-ireland-s-success-a6688721.html Article from Independent about Steve Davis. O'Neill calls him the most underrated player in the EPL....stand up a few Saints fans. Luckily for Steve, his managers have seen what a few fans can't.
If Hodgson really is just Fulham-and I think you're probably right-then he's perfect for England. As a country, we're certainly not Chelsea, though we may be, like Liverpool, living on former glories. I prefer the Fulham analogy though; their home is modest and charming, one of the nicest venues in sport. And their fans don't expect much so they're generally a happy bunch; spose that's where the similarity ends tthough, eh?
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/h...mentary-for-shane-longs-ireland-winner-video/ Irish provide spoof subtitles to German commentary of Long's goal. Hilarious...no, mildly amusing...probably. Shane's new anthem...funnier. http://www.irishtimes.com/news/shane-long-wonder-goal-inspires-new-soccer-anthem-1.2386175
Let's play a game of Just Connect: England: Walcott Northern Ireland: Davis Republic of Ireland: Long Come on, Bale....go for it. Sorry, Scotland...couldn't help.
Just seen McNulty's ratings on BBC website. Gave Sterling a 7 and said had a good game. Must have been watching a different game to me, all i saw was a player trying to do too much, running down blind alleys, frequently giving the ball away and no final delivery - all against 2nd rate opposition. He may have potential but is not anywhere close to delivering on a consistent basis to warrant such lauding as he gets at the moment.
I understand it's pretty iffy that Sweden will make the Euros next year. It put me in mind of great players who don't make international championships that often or at all. Popped across to Youtube to look up an appreciation of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to remind myself of his outrageous talent. Probably won't see him in the Euros.
Also saw his appraisal of Bertrand, giving him a 6 and saying he was competent, but that he was well down the LB pecking order. Excuse me, but who decides that.? Him.? Personally I don't give a monkey's fart about England on most occasions, but I do give a monkey's about uninformed reporting. Bertrand is currently the best English LB, bar a fully fit Luke Shaw, and even that is debatable.
Enjoyed reading that, good article. I like Stevie D, always think that when he's on form he's a top, top player.
Steve has upped his game of late. At the beginning of the season I began to think he might be falling off his good standard game, but he appears to have got it back up there.

Nice to see that Elia is part of the squad too. Didn't get on this time. Virgil started and played the whole 90. See what being part of Southampton FC does for you.?
Wales attack is as frustrating as heck tonight, it is time we found and developed a new Welsh striker to get some goals for them!
Israel 0-1 Cyprus - Junior Wales edge ever closer. No matter what , if Israel don't win, Wales qualify!
