He said he ran with an awkward gait which would lead to lower back trouble later in life. He never slated the lad as a player and never hinted it would affect his career, all he said was that his running style would cause problems later in life.
Looking at the way Henderson runs I would agree with Fergie, he puts a lot of impact stress on his lower back because of his posture

Why can people not understand that Pogba made his own decision based on guaranteed playing time
He refused to sign a new contract and coercion is against the law. Which player do you suggest we should have dropped at that time to guarantee him games?

That can be sorted out by simple exercises in the gym that strengthen the muscles in the lower back:biggrin:

Of course they can, they add support, I've herniated a disc in my back before from working out, and nowadays I feel no pain thanks to building up the muscles around it. I can literally do everything I used to before.
 
The really odd part is the unprecedented excitement at getting the current Klopp. The Chavs didn't go into this much of a frenzy when they hired Mourinho who had just won the European Cup. Klopp is clearly a top manager but last season was his worst since he was relegated with Mainz. He lost 14 out of 34 league games and finished 7th in the league before leaving the club to take a break from the pressure. Is he the Messiah or is he Brian?

Nope, sorry but impact damage is not related to muscles in any way. I would imagine you damaged your disc whilst bending (lifting weights/sit-ups etc), muscles do help with this because they take the strain.

The tendons and joints do get strengthened up to when your muscles get stronger, how do you think Strongmen and powerlifters deadlift 1000 pounds for years without getting arthritis in there back? That's a lot more stress on the joints, than running upright.

The stronger you build your back up, the stronger all the joints and tendons will get aswell. Your muscles don't just grow without your joints adapting to the physical exercises your doing :biggrin:

Impact and weight are two completely different things, try pushing a nail into wood with a 50lb weight then try knocking it in with a 1lb hammer :emoticon-0100-smile

They aren't different, the impact is still on the tendons and joints that would get stronger through being worked out. It's probably not ideal to run like he does, but it shouldn't prevent him having a long career. ive worked out for over a decade myself, and as I've said I've had a couple of low back injury before, so Ive read up a lot about the lower back. If you talked to a chiropractor I'm sure they'd tell you what I am:biggrin:

Try jumping off a table with straight legs and see how the muscles protect your knees :emoticon-0100-smile

It's not a case of "locking out", it's the way the force is distributed. You have cartilage in your knees (similar to the discs in your spine) which help to absorb load and lubricate the joint, they are not meant to absorb direct shock which is why you naturally bend your legs when you jump and most people naturally lean forward when the run.
 
the knee joint and the back are totally different. If he was running without bending his knees then I could see your point, but running with a straight back isn't all that bad. your back has a lot more range of movement than your knee. look at the way some people can bend there backs right back.

That's the whole point, it's not the movement, it's the rigidity that causes the problem <doh>

It is in their DNA. I remember the huge excitement when they signed Brenda in 2012. "They can't believe it" they said. Young and dynamic. Etc

Anyone they employ must be the best. Lovren, Lallana, Allen, Firmino, benteke are all world beaters of course. Their delusion is absolute. everything [HASHTAG]#kloppyflop[/HASHTAG] says is gospel just like Jose caused excitement. The quips will not be so funny when defeats come along. <ok>

Strange that. I can't remember the same 'huge excitement'. Love the way you make things up as you please to make your point. Ever thought about a career in journalism? <laugh>
 
Love the negativity here...Klopp was the best thing since sliced bread a year and a bit ago <laugh>

Brilliant for Mainz - relegated but brought them back up and into Europe
Brilliant for Dortmund - league titles, cups, CL final

Sure the standard slipped in his last season, once Bayern tore his team apart and the injuries piled up. He left with a team that still adores him, fans that adore him and a replacement (Tuchel) who has thanked him for the platform he left behind.

At the end of the day, players will want to play for Klopp - the ones we have and ones we want to have. And the evil, foul, unheralded (no other club at all ever has one) transfer committee has got us some real talent for him to build from - Sakho, Can, Sturridge, Coutinho, Firmino.

Pretty much everything is positive... years of supporting Liverpool now makes me ask... what will go wrong?
