I was giving the Scotch a compliment on their terrific football throughout the qualifiers but Dev is too bitter and thick to accept such a compliment.

So we're all agreed that it's unofficial - or simply a mere coloquialism which actually means **** all - Great Britain is England Wales and Scotland. The UK is GB and Northern Ireland.

Suffice to say that "Great Britain" is the mainland Island of Britain, the United Kingdom includes NI, as does the "British Isles".

ergo "Britain" and the "UK" are two separate entities.
