Hey chums, just noticed the type of print used on this site, not certain if it is Baskerville or Century Gothic. Just picked this page at random as an example...what'ya think eh?
My guess is Baskerville....the small 'A' is different with Century Gothic. Thats' it....I'm off to bed.
The font may be impressive but there appears to be a misprint. That shows Masky top with 12 points. Obviously a typographical error.
The format is of course completely flawed. They are not true first and second divisions as participants do not compete against each other in the division, merely predicting a result that will be common to both. In fact, it's clear that Sausageman is the true front runner in all this, but it is fair to note that the 12 current occupants of the "Division 1" have amassed 97 points between them, whereas the lowly "Division 2" plebs have only 87 points from the first 12. This would suggest that the upper league does in fact contain the cream of those predicting, however I would like to suggest a competition over the season (maybe even game by game?) between the two divisions as to whom will amass the most points between them. This would take on the mantle of a true team game rather than having to suffer the gloatings of certain individuals continually bringing attention to themselves. Now what should be the prize????
Hmmm...seem to remember a certain individual demanding that the league table be pinned up after one game! As the football song goes "you're not singing anymore pal!"
That was just the euphoria of getting one right at last. Anyway, it's a marathon not a sprint pal. What do you think of my idea of a team game or are you only interested in personal glory?
I must admit I tend to agree with Masky on this one.....and, yes, it's a long way to fall but the view is pretty good for as long as it lasts. On the league comparison, we must also factor in that the 'attendance' is higher in the first division. Maybe points per prediction might show a different answer?
Forgot to add that division 2 is carrying Musty who will never get a correct result even as long as we don't lose. All others tend to be a little more optimistic....not to say unrealistic!!!!
Well Sausage, green was the choice of Hamman for us and it looks like BfB, Jonah and Glamorgan have gone for the Tan rebrand.... Those us in blue are the real deal but the rest must be Jacks.
Take care Sparks, I'm not in red through f'ing choice. But hey ho, I'm just resting this season. No objection to an overall winner between the 2 divisions. No extra work needed for Sheepy unless it's an end of season tie. The results are evident for all to see.
I never quite understood the reason for a 2 division structure. I however had to go through a traumatic and ultimately painful play off defeat 2 seasons ago, before succeeding in attaining an automatic spot last season so I am happy with being in the top tier. For how long though is unknown ps. It's all good fun and I enjoy it so thanks BS for your endeavours.
I'm personally not a massive of a one tier slog as there is only one thing to compete for. With two divisions you get promoted and relegation which means more people have something to compete for. Admittedly it can be frustrating if you score highly in Div 2 whilst some at the bottom of Div 1 would struggle to get into the playoffs with their points tally and still remain above you. Not sure what a division v division comp would prove? Div 2 has never outscored Div 1 but I can humor you lot. Div 2 has a rough deal mind as their isn't a fair distribution of predicting talent We could change the structure? Potentially divided everyone up into smaller groups and have a Euro's/NFL like format? Would make a much more level playing field. P.S Masky enjoy Calibri
Nothing wrong with the format at all Sheepy - just having a josh with Masky. You're doing a grand job keeping this going for us all. If any tweaks to the format are felt necessary, then everyone should stick their fivepennorth in on the subject - personally, I agree that the two division system does extend the interest toward the end of the season and beyond.
