Sorry, but Ned is a liability at right back, even in the Championship. Why oh why didn't CR bring in a proper right back in the summer rather than use Perch in a position where he has been found out? It seems managers always think they can 'fill in' positions with 'utility' type players rather than going for tried and tested players who play in such positions. Danny Simpson may be a prize dickhead but he would have been better than any of the players that have filled his position since he left...
I read on Wiki before Perch joined us that he had played many positions but he was normally a RB. Where did he normally play then? Ned has always looked as good a RB as he is CB to me, better at RB in his earlier time with us. Seems like he is suffering a loss of confidence and form in general to me.
Ned has a tendency to drift in giving wingers the opportunity of room to get in a cross, that was evident when Ned played full back in the PL. If Perch was a proper right back that's where he'd always have played, it seems he's maybe past his best, which would be just about a typical QPR signing...
So Ned is better than Perch (???) and Furlong (?) and where does Harriman play?? I am not sure he is better than Hall (pretty certain Hall is our best CD at the moment) or Angella (a bit more even) as a CD. That is what I mean by Chris has a problem. Ned barely deserves his place...and the captain actually should be the first name on the sheet...and on saturday, he was moved along to try and find the right CD partnership...worrying
...and that's not over-stating it. Just watched the first Bolton goal. Utterly naive and inept defending. CR needs to sort it pronto or go
Hang on what point are you trying to say? Are you saying I don't support Rangers? As that obviously isn't true maybe you should stop talking bollox and think of it practically. Considering you liked Quality Passing post that followed your own, i'm assuming you realise that you were actually wrong Anyone with a couple of brain cells can see that Sandro on that pitch instead of Henry or Luongo in the number 10 instead or even Polter up top when we needed a goal will do more practical good then blindly clapping as Henry chases shadow's. To stand there and blindly clap and 'support' someone who is harming the club is idiotic. Moaning and bringing to the managers attention his piss poor performance actually does far more good for the club There was one point when Phillips turned inside to pass it, saw it was Henry and literally hesitated and played it back to an under pressure Onouha instead. If we didn't have an entire bench full of players who should be on helping the team instead of him then it would be a fair point. If he was the best we have but he's a bit **** and we have to accept what we have. Then yeah fair enough get behind him. But fan power will eventually force Henry out of the side and I expect our performances to improve after that. As part of that fan power making that I believe that to be far more positve than the muggy blind faith happy clappers End justifies the means. If you honestly don't see that then you are part of the problem. We got away with it with worldly's against a relegation side. A few divs clapping for Karl Henry won't help when we're playing Boro, Burnley and Derby. But better players on the field instead will
OK, fair enough, you're correct. Life's too short to dwell on a match and over analyse football in that depth imo. The game's done and dusted, three points in the bag. Move on.
Harriman is the best right-back at the club IMO. Given the defenders available I'd stick with yesterday's four. Neither Onuoha or Perch are full-backs. The decision to loan out both Harriman and Furlong was bizarre.
I said we would end up halfway before the Season started and I think thats still the case.......we'll win a few, lose a few etc etc. Great to see we can score without Charlie (and dont think his heart is with us anymore). If Fer, Sandro get to their best along with Chery still playing well we might make the play offs but the defence has to be sorted or new signings in Jan.
Given that you accused me of not supporting Rangers and used an illogical and idiotic argument I think it's fair enough that I gave a reasoned response. The fact you aren't able to sustain your original proves my point so can leave it there even if you aren't willing to openly acknowledge you were wrong
The best right back on the books of Queens Park Rangers? IMO that is Michael Harriman & we will have to wait till January until we can play him. I fail to understand why the club loaned out Harriman & Furlong, leaving us with only Perch who can play there. Ned is only emergency cover for the position. Konchesky has improved on the left hand side & was one of the better players on Saturday. However, along with Perch & Ned he has problems at covering the centre halves from the full back position & all three allow attackers to drift past them when crosses come in to the box. This is why we concede so many goals from crosses. It would help if the centre halves won the ball though!
I still think the main reason this team is conceding goals is Henry. His sole job is to protect the defence but he's completely immobile, gives the ball away putting the defence under pressure, and rarely seems to tackle anyone. I'll keep saying it but I refuse to believe Doughty would do worse.
Just asking but what's your basis for saying Harrison is our best RB. Don't think I have seen him play for us since our 2nd League game at Everton for Colin back in the PL about 5 seasons ago when we won. Thought he did ok then if nervous and inexperienced as you'd expect. Since then it seems he's played reserve football or been loaned out to lower League Clubs like now. How is he suddenly our best RB other than the ones expected to be there are underporforming.
We conceded goals in the Prem with Onuoha in defence and doing the same in the Championship. The common factor is Ned. i know a lot of fans like him but he needs to step up.
He's an actual right-back for a start rather than a centre-half playing at full-back. He's got about 100 lower league appearances under his belt and seems to be one of the better players in a team at the top of League Two. At 22, if he's not right for us now, will he ever be? Can he be noticeably worse than Perch or Onuoha playing there?
Oslo, Firstly, he would not need to be playing very well to be our best right back! My oppinion is based on his record for Gillingham, Luton & W*****e. Since the Everton game, he has been continuously loaned out & now has probably made over 100 Football League appearances. He has been regarded by the clubs & supporters of those lucky enough to have his services as their best player. Could he take that Division One & Two form into The Championship? We won't know without trying him, but you could say that about any player you sign from a lower division. Mind you, Wigan supporters regarded Perch as their best player as well!
I agree. I love the bloke, but his football currently doesn't instil confidence. Each game I see I worry when he's on the ball - the longer he holds on to it, the more I worry. Also, he doesn't seem vocal or demonstrative enough to be captain - you need someone to raise spirits, shout instructions and orchestrate things a bit more.
