No point sacking Rodgers unless the transfer Comittee is scrapped. No top class manager is gonna want to come unless he has full control of transfers, otherwise we're just gonna end up with a mini Rodgers like Gary Monk

Thing is, I think some managers would go with it and to me, that is a more worrying prospect.

The club needs a leader, the committee is the opposite of leadership, it is the perfect example of confusion and chaos!

It's not just the league though... 2 draws in Europe... a draw in the cup against L2 side... 1 win in 9... take out the first 2 results of the season and things aren't peachy.

They were all games with the second string out weren't they and it's not like the League Cup is a priority and as much as you'd want to win the Europa League you have to be able to rest and rotate otherwise you're adding 13(or 15?) games to your first team's schedule to get there. Cupsets happen, Bradford beat Chelsea, Boro beat City, MK Dons wiped the floor with United and Sheffield United were beating us on away goals with 5 minutes to go. As much as the Carlisle result was funny(to me, anyway) I don't think it's that big of a deal. A second string drawing away at Bordeaux isn't that bad in my opinion although the Sion one was poor even for a weakened side.

All I'm saying is that it really wasn't as bad as you make out. Some of those draws could have easily been wins on another day and as has been pointed out since the start of the season, you've had some especially tough away games to start in the league.

We had 2 points from 8 games with Ramos. That kind of form is what should lead to an early sacking, not 12 from 8. Even Chelsea aren't panicking with just 8 points.

Thanks for the efforts Brendan, but it went seriously down hill when Luis left.

What's the reckoning with when new manager will be announced, Couple of days maybe, tomorow?

To most Southampton fans this seems like just desserts. It was difficult to like Rodgers due to his continued poaching of our better players and his comment about having no sympathy for us as we didn't have to sell. There was also the comment about Liverpool welcoming their feeder club when we played in an opening game at Anfield last season. It is difficult not to gloat at another Liverpool manager getting the chop and his sacking is perhaps demonstrative of Liverpool's demise from a team under Shankly and Paisley that was genuinely loved by the footballing audience and cheered on in their regular European triumphs to a cocky, arrogant team with most non-Liverpool fans loving Gerrard's hilarious slip up that summed up their failure to capture the title. I think Rodgers has probably done more harm to the reputation of the club amongst fans of other teams than any other previous Liverpool manager with the affection that you enjoyed back in the 1970's long since evaporated. Rodger's arrogance was an anathema to supporters of other clubs who, like me, grew up in the 1970's and witnessed a team that, like Clough's Forest ,generated a degree of national pride in their European forays. Hopefully his will get what is de to him and end up at Sunderland!

Although I am slightly sad that it didn't work out for Brod and we've had to part ways, I am really excited about what is on the horizon and who will be leading the way. Although we're not in a bad position in the leagues and cup competitions, we desperately needed a change.
