Well at least something went right, Willies bumper horse is very, very good and showed toughness today too.

Ireland grinding a bit here against the Italians. I expected it to have been a bit more straightforward. Well done Dancer on your rugby bet and all other winners today.

Great to see colours other than the Irish or the ghastly Arabs in the winners enclosure.

These colours went quiet for a few years..I remember as a lad On The House winning the Guineas many years ago in the same livery.

I think in those days the Wraggs trained exclusively for the Opp's..

Bustino was that the case?

Liverpool sack Rogers?

Crazy. I think he is a good manager who has paid the price for over achieving initially. Very unfortunate to have lost some top players through unfortunate circumstance.

Good manager but he didn't kick on from when they should of won the league couple of years back, his signings should have been better. Was very unlucky to lose Sturridge with injuries at the same time as Suarez but Balotelli was a huge mistake.

It takes a certain type to spend millions in the transfer market and create a team that gels. Rodgers so nearly got it right in that glorious season with Suarez banging on the goals but, when all is said and done, he has massively under-achieved since then, despite spending a fortune. Bloody difficult these days though, as Mourinho, Pellegrino, Van Gaal will testify. Mind you, at least they don't have to be down the pit at the coal face every morning at 6.00 AM so they should just be grateful for that, the ****ing pampered twats.

I think you are right Dex, but at some stage he started sending horses to Charlton. Haven't got my HiT books with me so can't be certain. Harry Wragg definitely trained almost exclusively for him at some stage as did Geoff, but don't know at which stage Openheimer started sending horses to Charlton. Charlton trained Mystic Knight for Lady O in '96. (Charlton has this 2yo filly called Pure Vanity for AO this year).
Also Humphrey Cottrill trained some Oppenheimer horses pre-Geoof Wragg.

Great colours and some really good horses.

Good luck QM. Would like to say see you there but as we don't know what each other look like I would say that's about as likely as England rugby team progressing in the World Cup.

If I had been able to keep a WiFi link long enough to read this and reply I could have arranged to meet you somewhere once the crowd had thinned out after the Arc. Hope you had a good day. I had a rare Longchamp winner from two bets.

Longchamp was not as crowded as I had expected and I wondered whether this was down to the €20 tickets – France Galop cashing in on the Treve factor.

Despite the Arc not even being halfway through the card, the French still did their usual trick of disappearing straight after the race. Granted they were disappointed because Treve did not win, but I wonder if they would leave a football match before half time if it was not going their way.

"peasants in Calais"

An interesting description of desperate people who have been plunged into taking desperate measures. Many of whom have risked life and limb on their journey, their plight in many cases caused by "Western intervention".

Enjoy your day in France QM on your cosy Eurostar with **** all more to worry about than the availability of sodding wi-fi....!

I used the term “peasants in Calais” because it was accurate and concise in a situation where there was no intention to start a debate; and I expected everyone to know to what I was referring.

Obviously you and Frau Merkel have abundant space to house half the World’s tired huddled masses, so we will leave you both to it.

As it was, my return Eurostar was twenty minutes late leaving Paris because it was a brand new train and they could not close the doors! That could not be French engineering... Alstom did not make them did they?

Bl**dy useless Windows Phone 8.1 would not work on the Longchamp WiFi until after 5pm yet it was fine three weeks ago. If this is the best Microsoft can do they will not be in this market very long. No blue screen of death yet though...
