Maybe you are a relative recent fan of Leicester and don't know of the crap times like when we were in adminsitration, 3 managers in one season, league 1 etc. - believe you me, these are glorious time.

I've been following Leicester since 1996.

I'm not being pessimistic, I'm just putting things into perspective. Fans that get carried away are usually the same ones that start calling for managers heads when things aren't so sweet. I like to think I keep a balanced view in both the good and bad times.
 
... during our remarkable run at the end of last season we only played one team that finished in the top six ... we lost ... don't recall any of or own fans complaining that the results had less merit because of the lack of 'quality' of the opposition? ... this is the PREMIER league fffs and if Jose Mourinho is to be believed, the league is of higher quality this time sound ...
 
Top six, yes. But we beat sides like Swansea and Southampton that finished in the top eight. I think the matches against sides like those, plus Palace and Everton, will show our serious our claim on a possible top ten finish is.

You have been following Leicester nearly as long as me - you know the crap times then so compare now to then.

Also take solace in that we aren't the England rugby team useless twats...
 
... fans of other clubs in the relegation scrap were accusing the Swans and Saints of already being on the beach when they played us ... didn't buy that just as much as I don't buy that we are in any way playing easier opposition now ... Ranieri is doing a fabulous job ... which is now being recognised by the press, pundits and footballing public ...

I don't watch the egg chasing.

My views are balanced, just some people take exception to the negative aspects which results in back and forth comments about that. Everyone knows we play great, fast counter-attacking football, so there's no debate to be had there. It started last season, we enjoyed in then, and it continues now, much to the delight of us all.

Regarding your 'balanced' posts - I genuinely have not seen any truly positive ones from you apart from comments like the one above saying "we are good atm but all we are doing is continuing from last season".

Do you think the CR has made any improvements to the team or is everything positive only due to the 9 games last season?

Yes you keep those feet firmly,rooted on the floor mate. I'd expect nothing more from you....unless we were doing poorly then I'm sure you'd be shouting from the rooftops for Ranieri's exit lol

I wonder if Fuchs can play on the right?! Or maybe Albrighton can play as a conventional right back, with Mahrez in front of him? I don't see Ranieri changing the formation any time soon.

Really????? "Basically Ranieri gambled today and rather than saying it paid off, I'd say we got away with it". What bull you are starting to spout you really are. We were worthy winners today. If a manager chooses a team and we win the game, then he got it RIGHT. End of story.
 
Gangsta's views are balanced ... unfortunately he purchased a duff set of scales :) ... either that or he hasn't noticed that there is a bloke called Pearson sitting on one end :)
 
Balanced Views????? Now I've heard it all? Gangsta you're views are probably the least balanced of anyone on here, but you keep telling yourself that mate.
They are about balanced as having an elephant and a feather on each side of the Ranieri scales.
 
I agree with Gangsta to a degree. There has been alot of positives so far until Ranieri but there is still alot to work on

But thats always going to be expected. Today was our best performance defensively IMO where only 1 bit of bad defending (which was punished) happened

So far result and performances have been very good but we need to learn how to hold the ball more and defend alot better as a team

A solid 8.5/10 so far

15 goals conceded in 8 games is a major concern but 17 goals scored in 8 is superb

I've already been through this, one more game down the line isn't going to change my opinion. CR hasn't really changed it that much. He's changed the formation and brought De Laet back in (and Simpson today), which has only weakened us defensively. Not sure how many of his signings we're truly his and how many were identified previous to him joining - from that article about our backroom team published a couple of weeks ago, it sounded like he identified Benaloune - but not many have broken into the first team anyway. The midfield two have changed because Cambiasso's gone and James is injured - Kante has done brilliantly, but did come with a good reputation and was likely identified some time ago by our contacts in France. Drinkwater has clearly developed well in the last year, and that sure as Hell didn't happen in the last two or three months.

I'd say where we finish will be ultimately down to CR, but after just eight games when we're carrying on the performances with the same players from the end of last season, it's very difficult to judge. And that, by the way, would go for any manager, which is why I'm always amazed when managers are sacked after six-eight games. What the Hell do you expect anyone to achieve in that time? The answer, of course, is too little to truly quantify.

So, going forward, you'd be happy to see Simpson stay in the side and Mahrez on the bench? Something tells me you wouldn't, which ultimately means you disagree with the manager. I didn't say we weren't worthy winners, we were because Vardy and Schlupp worked their asses off. I don't agree with your last point because teams can sometimes win despite their manager.

It may appear that way to you because, this early in his tenure, it's easier to spot what he's getting wrong than any new influences he's having because we did so well late on last season. Despite what some of you sensitive souls think, I have nothing against Ranieri and sincerely hope he becomes our most successful manager ever - as I do for anyone who comes to our club.

................ and the recruitment team that has been here for a few years will continue to identify which players to try and get in. They are not Pearson signings nor are they Ranieri signings. They are all identified and scouted by Walsh and his team and recruited by Rudkin and his team. The managers these days only identify the positions that need strengthening - they do not identify individual players. This has been made abundantly clear in the articles written by various members of the club. Indeed, Frank Sinclair actually commented when CR was appointed that he didnt choose the individuals who were signed, merely suggested the positions that needed strengthening - and that was when he was at Chelsea.

I know that's the case with Ranieri, I'm not sure it was under Pearson, I get the impression he had more involvement on that front.

That bodes well for us going forward obviously but, as I said, it makes it harder to assess the true impact Ranieri's having when, I suspect, he's not been responsible for any or many of our new signings and the team and tactics are so reminiscent of late last season. People think I'm insulting Ranieri when I say the best think he has done is not to tinker, but it's true. We discovered a winning formula and he, for the most part, has stuck with it, even to the point of leaving the new boys out.

As I say though, he will want to make his mark eventually, and today was an indicator that some of his decisions will be - interesting. If we'd been on a losing streak and he'd left Mahrez out like that and we lost again, he'd have been slaughtered I suspect. A losing streak will come, and how he responds, and how the fans react to his response, will be very interesting indeed. Hopefully though, he's banking up enough good will with these early wins to get through it without too much backlash, although fan expectations can spiral out of control when you get off to a good start.

So to clarify what you have said - all of the positives are due to last season and all of the negatives are due to CR.

Is this your 'balanced' view?
