Lot of ignorance of the actual Act itself.

The Act criminalises behaviour that is hateful (section 1(2)(a)-(c)), threatening(section 1(2)(d)) or otherwise offensive to a reasonable person (section1(2)(e)) and is likely to incite public disorder.

Any questions?

I've said before...

Songs about IRA, Irish politics etc - I'd like to see it stopped at Celtic games. I don't believe we have that link any more - we did, but in my opinion, the link is now tenuous.

Is it distasteful ...yes. However, there are loads of things at football games that are can be seen as distasteful.

Is the OBAF act flawed ...Yes

Are fans groups such as GB flawed ... Yes

However, to potentially get a criminal record for singing BB/RoH is a bit much.

I don't disagree with the fact that it's harsh to get a criminal record for singing a song but I still think new legislation was necessary.

The knuckle-dragging hatred and needless political ****e was being perpetuated by a small minority who refused to catch up with the rest of civilisation and they needed specific laws to counter these ****nuts.

I do agree that OBAF was rushed and poorly thought out though.

Essentially everybody agrees that you're a **** ... n no a good yin.

“Religious crimes are down, race crimes are down, crimes in relation to sexuality are down and we’ve seen a decrease in crimes of offensive behaviour at regulated football matches in Scotland. Whilst the legislation we brought in two years ago has had its critics, the latest statistics show a steady decline in offences at stadiums and a YouGov poll shows 80 per cent of Scots support the Offensive Behaviour Act.

“We will not be complacent and will continue to monitor how the Act is working very closely going forward. However, I believe the legislation is working. The evaluations, backed by the latest statistics out today, demonstrate that the Act has had a positive impact and our approach has delivered real improvements in behaviour at football and online. There is clearly still much work to do and we will act upon the recommendations from the independent evaluation, starting today. There was concern within the evaluation around how we can help fans to understand the impact of their behaviour and to divert them from activity that could lead to criminal charges.

“Today, I’m acting on that recommendation by providing additional funding for Sacro to develop their ‘Diversion from Prosecution’ programme on a Scotland-wide programme and, where appropriate, make available an alternative disposal that will allow less serious or first time offenders committing an offence under the Act to avoid being caught up in the criminal justice system while providing a suitable and proportionate response to the offence committed.

I find songs about the IRA offensive. I also find songs about the UVF offensive. The Orange walk offends me and Provo marches boil my blood. I ****ing hate plastic Paddies like Mindy and canny stand awe they Derry's walls singing ****s that don't even know where Derry is.

Fact is awe the ****ers in this country that care more about Ireland than here are extremely offensive to me and should all die a horrible death.

Or worse.

**** off to Ireland and gee us all peace.

I'm not Irish

By the looks of your wife I'd hate to be loved by you

Ciaran pal, you seem to be buying into Mindy's bullshit (c/o handy green brigade flyers that he's read) that the OBAF law was invented just to target poor Celtic fans and Republicans.

Not so.

There has been far more Rangers fans charged under this law than tims.

Do we give a ****, no we don't.

If you can't do the time don't do the crime and certainly don't greet about Iit like a toddler.
Rangers fans were already being arrested in droves before the act
