So... you're signing him in some mega money deal (for Genk, anyway...thinking about it it'd be an even more-mega-money deal for us!), and he's unlikely to start at all this season...

Fancy loaning him to us? ;)

Part of the deal is that we loan him back to Genk

Ah yeah? Fair shout, it'll probably be best for his development.

Initially I heard the same - that he was being loaned back, but apparently he forced the move and also did not show up when selected for a friendly, so it looks like he's fallen out with Genk. There was no mention of his loan back when Genk announced he was leaving. I did hear a rumour we want to loan him to Atletico though....

I'm telling you, a loan to the Swans is just what the boy needs! Decent football, plenty of saves to make...

Thought someone would like that! haha

In seriousness, while I do rate our football to the extent that it'll give us a punchers chance of staying up, I'm not naive enough to think we won't be under the cosh for large parts of games throught the season. Losing De Vries was a big blow to us, so we've got to hope this Portugese dude we've signed is quality, or bring someone else in. Hence this thread! Villas-Boas worked with Rodgers too, to continue the tenuous Rodgers-Chelsea link...

I heard the rumour as well of him being loaned to us as Spain is better than Belgium in terms of quality. Personally I wouldn't want him as it would halt the development of our prospects. Although, if he did come to us and we and him have a good season then we might get him permanently so I don't think that deal would suit either team

I doubt if he had a good season at Atletico he would stay. Chelsea would not allow that - what would be the point? Yes SW6 that's what I was thinking, but Aguero seems city bound. Only time will tell!

He said yesterday that he is joining us on loan today (contract permitting) for a 2 year loan, apparently there is also a clause that Atletico will be fined every time they don't play him when he is fit
