Mourinho's doing his usual grandstanding bullshit, but he's not actually wrong, is he?
The FA's decision about Gabriel is nonsensical, as you've admitted yourself. Are players allowed to retaliate now? It would seem so, but I doubt it.
There's going to be a massive question about consistency when the next idiot decides to kick out and then appeal his ban.

As for Wenger, how has he gone from his previous stance, which labeled Gabriel as "guilty" to successfully appealing the ban and moaning about it?
He's just contradicting himself.

The whole thing summed up games between Chelsea and Arsenal in recent years.
Very spiteful, mean-spirited and bitchy, much like their respective managers.

Seems like you're the one bitching about it to be honest.

Gabriels suspension was rightly taken away. What the FA did wrong was not tag it onto Costa and give him a 6 match ban instead.

What some are saying here is Costa shouldn't be punished for winding players up. I disagree, he should be punished for his behaviour on all fronts, otherwise he's basically been given free reign to do what he wants.

He's paid to be a footballer, not some **** clown. If he going around thinking he's the prequel to Vinny Jones then he need not play, just suspend him permanently.

He's **** anyway.

There was no need for Gabriel to get involved - he chose to. He got a yellow card and then foolishly flicked a silly backheel in Costa's direction. It was stupid having just been booked and he got what he deserved. To rescind it later is a ridiculous decision and makes Dean look incompetent ( ok, sometimes he is, but the FA shouldn't be condoning that viewpoint).

It's a stupid decision. Your own fans are calling it a stupid decision, for the most part.
The FA have taken messed up because they felt pressured to do something, because of all the whining.
All they've done is compound the mistake during the game. It's quite sad that you can't even admit that, because you've benefited from it.

Winding players up in order to get them or others sent off is cheating. Plain and simple. You punish the cheater, or he never learns.

Basically what's being said is Costa can go around doing this and getting others sent off while he plays the full game. Sure, he runs the risk of missing a fee games but if calculated correctly, he may miss games of lesser importance.

Meanwhile the opponent is reduced to 10 and likely loses.

Tactics, which is exactly what it is, like this should be pushed out of the game. Its archaic having some two bit thug on the pitch now. Before long he will be grabbing balls and pulling hair.

Nobody's saying that Costa shouldn't have been punished, except Mourinho.
Rescinding a red card that was fully deserved is not the way to address the issue, though.

The cheater IS being punished, and rightly so. However, that does not exonerate Gabriel. He had no need to get involved, he behaved stupidly and got what he asked for. Rescinding his dismissal just makes the FA look even more incompetent.

But by Gabriel being punishes, Costa has achieved his purpose so therefore comes out as the winner in all this.

Sure, he misses 3 games, one a league cup game? Are there any big Chelsea games coming up?

By rescinding Gabriel's red card, they've doubled the punishments for Costa. While they can't change the result of the match they can show Costa and his ilk that they won't stand for it.

In fact, I would like to see this applied going forward and red cards received for being wound up by the likes of Costa ante rescinded and said punishment passed to them.

It would soon stop. Costa's purpose on the pitch would be gone too.

It won't stop anything. Costa's purpose was to get Chelsea the three points and he's done exactly that.
He's got the ban that he deserved and Gabriel should've got one too, as he deserved one.

Costa should simply be sent off more often during games and that needs to be addressed.
Trying to fix the situation afterwards by undermining the bits that the ref got right is not the way to go.

...not some **** clown...

I trying to wrap my brain around this, UIR.

How does one define a "****" clown?

Is it one who twats himself over the head with his own rubber hammer? Or one who, intending to throw a bucket of confetti over the kids in the front row throws an actual bucket of water over them?

I think we all need some guidance on this, so we know what we're up against.

PIXIE tends not to be concerned about what other Gooners think.

Remember that monkey masturbating in its cage? Does it care what the other monkeys think, as it sits there, yanking at its little tool, and getting confused when it ends up shooting itself in the eye with jizz? No, it doesn't.

Well, that's PIXIE.

I've already said that we were very lucky with the Gabriel decision.

You and PNP are getting your little Chipolatas worked up over something that has already been dealt with <ok>

Have you ever seen one of Rodgers the Clowns shows?

There lies your answer.

The irony of course is that had the ref just sent him off having given a second yellow rather than a straight red; presumably the fa wouldn't have been able to interfere at all?

Costa was wrong but to try and claim (like UIR) that Gabriel did nothing wrong is laughable. After all the incident between them started from Gabriel getting involved in the incident between Costa and Vermahlen

Koscielny, but you're right.
Vermaelen plays for Barca. Sometimes.

I don't care if he did anything wrong.

His punishment was being sent off an missing the game therefore aiding Chelsea to the win.

He was punished. To ban him for further games due to some scruffy caveman is simply harsh. The Fa have done right and have also sent a message to the chav and Costa.

Expect Costa to be sent off for winding someone up soon.
