I seem to recall that Mr Duffen when last in charge sanctioned the refit of his office to the tune of an extraordinary amount, I recall there being a lengthy discussion regarding this previously. Perhaps someone may recall the amounts involved but I do recall it being ridiculous amounts.

what concerns me is that we are allegedly one of the favourites for promotion, we have on paper one of the strongest squads in this league, a forward thinking investor may look at us and think we are a good bet to go straight back up, thereby releasing mega wonga in the Premier League, and immediately seeing a return on their investment. Duffen has been there before and seen this (and spunked the money). Maybe just pie in the sky, but have to say it does worry me a tad letting him loose on the reins.

Anyone looking to buy us would be complete mugs. We're one of the favourites, yes but we're not a strong favourite. All we have is players on big contracts. We don't own our stadium. So basically, all they'd be doing is having a bet down the bookies.

Don't forget, what Allam did when he bought us was highly unusual. He had to have a reason for doing that.

I have always had a strong suspicion, Allam was given promises from HCC councilors that he would acquire the freehold of the KC. That never materialised and that is why he and his family have been so bitter and angry ever since.

Even though there's big money coming to Premier league clubs next season, that money will have to be invested in better players on bigger wages, otherwise the owners will find themselves straight back in the brown stuff.

No one is going buy us.

Genuinely surprised PMT hasn't jumped in and said Duffen would be better than the Allams.

So what we've learned so far in the thread is that nobody has a clue who is in the consortium and if it even exists

but the Washington Redskins might have to change their name because it's considered a bit racist these days

@bbcburnsy: Breaking...I hear a whisper that one member of the consortium interested in buying @hullcity is Paul Duffen. No confirmation yet. [HASHTAG]#hcafc[/HASHTAG]

This tweet is followed by 7-8 people tweeting how he would be good for the club. Did I miss something last time around?

Now that just confirms it's nothing but a ****ing wind up.

"He'll learn from his mistakes last time".

"He's good with the fans" etc

Didn't he scrap any sort of loyalty programme for away games and lots of tickets for big PL away games ended up in the hands of people who probably shouldn't have had them - sponsors, mates, etc? Correct me if I'm wrong but that isn't good for the fans.
