Our big 4 are no so big on the European stage anymore, and following on from that, don't have he aura about them in the PL as they have had in the past. The field feels a bit more level this time around, don't you think?
It's a funny one - over the last few seasons the facts have spoken for themselves. But I look at Man City's squad and I think, to me, it looks as good as any of the top clubs in Europe. Also, you have the likes of Liverpool resting six starters for their European match just so those six are fresh to face lil ole Norwich. While Real hump teams 8-0 without getting out of third gear. I think it's a mixture - the toughness of the PL definitely impacts
Good summary Rob and I don't disagree with you at all. No doubt about the strength of the Man City sqad which again is a World X1 (or XX whatever) but no other club has a depth where you think jeez we could get humped here. The depth of the PL as you suggest is probably the difference and you cannot take liberties anymore where maybe 4/5 years ago the top clubs could.
Such as been the ineptitude of the English assault on the Champions League in recent seasons, if we have another bad one this year we're in serious danger of losing the fourth qualification spot the year after next. Apparently the Italians are very hot on our tail in terms of coefficient points and all that, and if Serie A clubs outperform those from the Permier League again this year then we could be down to just three qualifiers the year after next.
It's not gonna be a problem Munky, after we qualify for the champions league this season, AN will lead us to glory the next, casting Barca, Real Madrid and Bryan Munich (Again!) aside with Cameron J proving all his doubters wrong once again. p.s. I thought about adding that RvW would score a winning hatrick in the final but, that would just be plain unrealistic! Bah!
Hmm, We should be able to Gunn them down without too much trouble! (only noticed the typo when JK mentioned it)
Typical Cheating Chelsea! Costa pushes both hands into a face, then slaps a face, and knocks someone down with his chest. Then because a player backs against him, he surrounds the ref (which is supose to be stamped out) and pesters him until he sends an Arsenal player off. Yet somehow every one of those pointless extra officials missed all of Costas slaps, pushes and getting in the face of everyone. What the hell is the point of the official on the goal line near the goal. Has that official ever spotted anything in any game?!
I didn't watch all of the match, I found it boring, but I saw Costa get tripped, a genuine foul, but he then waved an imaginary card at the referee. This really iangers me and I wish referees would wave at least a yellow card in the direction of anyone who does that!
Michael Turner adds to the Owls lead vs Fulham. 3-1 now to Sheff Weds (Whenever you're ready Forgot my Lines )
Have we got to play Newcastle soon? I hope so! Need to get a game against them while they are in this mess. Them and Sunderland look depressingly bad. Which is great!
