Quote from his press conference today when asked about loan signings.....

"this is our squad, and we go with this squad".

So, no winger or creative midfielder will be added. Luzon also reported that Henderson is some way off fitness.

As Alan Partridge might have put it...

"It's déjà vu all over again" <doh>

It is scary how similar our start this season has been to last year.

For the win over QPR read the 3-2 win over Derby.
For the last-minute win over Hull read the last-minute win over Wigan.
There was even a frustrating 1-1 draw with Rotherham last September too.

Mid-table it is then.

no winger
Good. That means no more Greens, Wagstaffs, Kerkars, Ephraims, Stewarts, Harriotts or Bulots. Load of ****ers!

Though I see that Luzon calls McAleny a left-winger. Explains why he was no good! Looks like another Jordan Cook (remember him?), skilled but light-weight, quick, but not quick enough to compensate.

no creative midfielder
What is JBG supposed to be?

...................................

But where are my right-back cover and my beefy centre-forward? Must I use my influence with RD yet again to get things moving?

this season will turn out to be identical to the last one IMO....

A promising start

Undermined by injuries and suspensions to small squad

A slump in results

The dismissal of a foreign stooge manager, to be replaced by another

Dropping attendances

a late rally to avoid relegation

What is JBG supposed to be you ask - good question.
Some see him as a Premier League standard international
I see him as a talented but lightweight dilettante, who has one good game in 4

The well informed Chicago Addick on social media is reporting that Douche Bag wants to use his funds to build a pukka new training centre & secure top rated status....thus ensuring that more promising young starlets will be attracted to Charlton which he can then flog on.

Clever.

The first team itself can, in Mugabe's words, "go hang"

His best ever game for us by a mile was when he was moved into the middle when we were down to 10 men against Cardiff. Full backs have learned how to keep him quiet by keeping him on his right foot. He's not even allowed to take free-kicks now, Kashi does that.

I very rarely post on CAFC-related threads nowadays, and that can only be viewed as a sad indictment of how a committed supporter's interest has diminished in such a short space of time.

In fact, I must be honest and say that I've not really missed attending The Valley this season, which is something I didn't think I'd ever admit to. :(

I'd bite your hand off for mid-table.

Ponderings, my excuses for missing games are legion. But I had the privilege of being there against Hull. Man, we looked GOOD. Now we're back to usual, but I'm still on here to hear about the team I love and seldom see.

Move to Spain mate. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Ha! I love Spain, Ken, but I don't think I could move there on a permanent basis. I move around enough as it is, and there's nothing better than returning to Blighty after a few weeks away. I do still love Charlton with all my heart and soul, and I'll more than likely make a return next season, but for now I'm enjoying a tour of non-league, league, and European grounds. Perhaps I'll produce a write-up for those interested...

Sounds interesting, Ponders. I once roomed with a fan who had done every senior football ground in England and Scotland, and afterwards he wrote a book about his experiences, his favourite ground was Brechin City.

For all my yearning and yearning to see Charlton one day, would i be in a similar state of mind if i was living in England ?

We should have garnered 6 points from the last 2 games.

I know Oz, I'm like a child on christmas eve every time I go to the Valley these days, but if I'd actually been there for the last two games, would I feel the same way ? The Charlton way with their fans always seems to be 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen', but there's a limit to how much meanness you want from a relationship.
