What should Liverpool do now?

  • Sack Rodgers now and get Klopp ( or someone else)

  • Sack Rodgers at Christmas and get Klopp ( or someone else)

  • Sack Rodgers in May and get Rafa

  • Keep Rodgers, I'm brain dead and think he will still turn it around, as soon as Joe Allen is fit.

  • MITO is a bottom feeding man whore.

That piece does actually make me feel a bit better <laugh>

There is a huge issue with the man who picks the ****ing team though - I don't think we will see Sakho next game and I still think we'll be playing the wrong players in wide positions rather than going 2 up top.

Those 2 decisions are getting beyond obvious now and if he persists with it against Norwich... Well prepare for the meltdown of all meltdowns on here!

Its the lack of fight and lacklustre performances we are repeatedly seeing (bar 2013-14) that are the issue. We're not seeing anything new this year, it's the same stuff being served up.

However, to put a more positive spin on it, we were missing three key players at the weekend; Coutinho, Hendo and Studge (was tempted to put four with Flanno but resisted). Also, if Sakho was reintroduced then we'd have a very good team IMO.

I did have sympathy for Brod but that is the one thing that's changed for me, he's destroying his own reputation through pure stubbornness!

It is mate, as he's saying it'll all be OK when Coutinho and Sturridge are back in, but then goes on to say that you're mince at the back. How is having more attacking prowess going to stem the flow at the other end of the pitch?

You score 3 we score 5. Been most successful tactic we've had in last God knows how many years <diva>

No doubt we have one or two issues at the back at the mo,but the re-introduction of Hendo for instance will provide more cover for our back four.
Maybe by giving you're opponents more to think about at their end of the park will reduce pressure on our defence also.
It's BR's head on the block,so he has to make some big calls to improve us in defence. Get Sakho in for starters. I've said before about the LB situation
not being resolved aswell. Gomez looks like a good signing but he's a kid and shows his inexperience with every game. He's a CB,not a left back

Team v Man U:

-----------Ming
Clyne-Skrtel-Lovren-Gomez
-----Can---Lucas---Milner
Ings----Benteke---Firmino

What the team is:

-----------------Keeper
Good RB-Terrible-Terrible-Wrong position
-------Young CM-Old DM-Not a CM
Not a winger--isolated---Not a winger

New formations which can work:

1. (4-1-2-1-2)
------------Ming
Clyne-Kolo-Sakho-Moreno
------------Can
---Hendo-------Coutinho
----------Firmino
-----any of our strikers-Benteke

2. (4-1-2-1-2 with wingers)
-------------Ming
Clyne-Gomez-Sakho-Moreno
--------------Can
Ibe-------------------------Lallana
---------------Coutinho
----Any of our strikers- Benteke

3. (4-3-2-1 with the two wingers playing as inside forwards)
---------------Ming
Clyne-Gomez-Sakho-Moreno
-----Milner---Can----Hendo
-------Firmino-Coutinho--------
------Ings/Sturridge/Origi

4. (4-4-2)
-------------Ming
Clyne-Gomez-Sakho-Moreno
Ibe---Hendo-----Can-----Lallana
---any of our strikers/Benteke

5. (4-5-1)
-------------Ming
Clyne-Gomez-Sakho-Moreno
---------------Can
Ibe-----Hendo----Coutinho---Lallana
---------Ings/Origi/Sturridge

If we kept Markovic then I'd have even more options, I mean for **** sake.

I think it's more fundamental than that. Lovren and Skrtel just don't look a solid pairing, and the former has got far too many errors in him. Mignolet isn't helping either as looks as nervy as hell.

Agree about Gomez, he looks an excellent prospect, but he's no LB and the fact that he's right footed doesn't help either! That simple fact cost you a crucial goal on Saturday as he lead into that tackle with the wrong leg.

You probably wont know why but this post is brilliant. The bolded part is gold. Us United fans have been saying it for years. A prime example is Lucas. Propelled to near godlike status during some of his injuries.

It's the same with Carrick, Nani etc. Absence makes the heart grow fonder or some ****

Same with expectations. United a football has been so bad last 2 years that even a glimmer of one passage of good play means they dominated the game <ok>

Get Hendo, Flanno and Studge fit, get them (and Coutinho) back in the side, move Gomez into the middle and bring Sakho back in and switch back to the diamond formation...

Migs
Clyne - Gomez - Sakho - Flanno
Hendo - Can - Milner
Coutinho
Benteke - Studge

Would love that but as you say...

I have to say i disagree with Jimmy about Benteke. I said it before and i will say it again. He's a decent player. He's already got 2 in 5 and is your top scorer. He's been isolated up front and he has managed to hold the ball up on occasions. The issue with Pool right now is that the midfield is so pedestrian. Lucas/Can/Milner even Hendo with some respect are all workers and not creative. Only coutinho is the danger of putting a decent throughball/dribbling past a player.

Firmino might be he's on the wing. Ibe's been terrible and no one is really putting any crosses in.

I said during the transfer window that Milner is a hard worker and not creative enough for you guys. This is the sort of guy Chelsea needed ( we don't have enough solid workers).

Think you absolutely need a change in manager though. Rodgers is well past his sell by date

Brendan got bored during the game on Saturday but thrilled the crowd at O T with a marvellous impersonation of Tommy Cooper.

I wondered why he was wearing a black suit with black tie.

.......and then I reaslised - he was mourning the death of his career

....Thank you very much.......

Let's be honest, until Liverpool fans start to vote with their feet (and wallets), FSG won't do anything.

Once we have empty seats in successive games, FSG will take a quick look at the extra capacity we're building and think 'oh f*ck'.......

Only then will you see action.........Am guessing that most of the next several games have been sold out in advance.....so we will probably have to wait as we did under Roy.

Hendo Coutinho
Firmino
Benteke Sturridge

or when Sturridge gets injured

Mig
Clyne Gomez Sakho Flanno
Can
Hendo Milner
Coutinho
Firmino Benteke

Very much agree. I do think this idea that he requires cross after cross is a bit of a red herring though. Sure, he likes a cross but he can do other stuff too. Stick another player alongside him with pace and skill on the ball and it would give the opposition defences more to worry about; drop deep and Benteke can cause problems, push up and his partner in crime can exploit the space. Football is about having options when attacking to make you unpredictable. ATM we are extremely predictable and easy to defend against.

So basically the same formation and team <doh>

Or did you just miss the "switch back to the diamond formation" part of my post...? <laugh>

How long until we see 3421 again?

Mignolet
Can Skrtel Loven
Clyne Henderson Milner Ibe
Firmino Coutinho
Benteke
As I learn more about Rodgers I see more and more false ego and more and more cringable techniques like Gerrard and these texts.

I think Ibe put the cross in for Benteke's goal <whistle>..................but in general both Firmino and Ibe havn't found their feet yet <ok>
