I am sure that we are all disappointed with last Saturdays’ result. Luckily there is already a game this Wednesday against Blackburn at Loftus Road. What changes would you make and what would be your starting first eleven?

We have an obvious change of goalkeeper, plus unfortunately I expect Angella to be out injured, but we have good back up with Hall. The key changes I would make are in the defensive midfield. I would drop Henry and bring in Doughty. Should Faurlin not be match fit, then I would play Tozser. However, I would persevere with the front four, although Luongo may be weary after his international travel (if so, then I would play Gladwin in the absence of Mackie).

Thus my team would be something like:

    ------------------------------Smithies----------------------------
----- Perch --------Onuoha -----Hall ---- Konchesky-----
    ------------------- Faurlin ------------Doughty -------------
    ---------Phillips ---------- Luongo -------------Chery -----
    ------------------------------ Austin ------------------------------

Hopefully this team will be sufficent to cash in the three points. But perhaps Chris Ramsey may suprise us with different changes in the team or formation (4-3-3 or even 4-4-2?).

    I agree with the team
Only exception is I'd maybe like to see Faurlin and Tozser together
I also thought Tozser played on the wrong side of midfield.
He favours one foot so much that he was often forced to pass square whereas on the other side he'd be collecting it with his body open so would have options both ways. Ale can do this at will.

Gladwin & Mackie nowhere near the team please. Gladwin needs to go on loan for a month - then told to shape up
Both Chery & Phillips were anonymous on the left
Chery was better on the right though you knew what he was going to do
Phillips is normally better on the right though was rubbish on both sides on Saturday - first bad game in a long time - we will give you another chance Matty

So 3 for Ramsey to sort
    1. Have the balls to drop Henry at home
    2. Get Phillips & Chery both firing in the same team at the same time
    3. Find out who his leaders are - the leader can then keep our new goalie calm!

Saturday was one small blip in what we know are early days, caused by a silly error as we were getting on top

Personally I think we are in much better shape than I thought we'd be at this stage
I also thought Forest were a half decent team, especially at the front.

I admit that I would also like to see Faurlin and Tozser together. However I believe that they are both similar types of "creative/ball playing" defensive midfielders, thus wll probably "interchage" and play along side an "enforcer" and speedier type of player, such as Sandro, Doughty....or Henry.

    So my team

    ------------------------------Smithies----------------------------
----- Perch --------Onuoha -----Angella ---- Konchesky-----
    ------------------- Faurlin/Toszer/Doughty -------------
    ---------Phillips ---------- Luongo -------------Chery -----
    ------------------------------ Austin -------------------------

If Angella's head is sewed up he must start.
If Ale is fit he must also start, but Henry should not.
So depending on fitness it is 2 of 3...If all fit I would start Toszer and Doughty, but warn one of them that Ale is coming on for the last third

Beth, we are on the same wavelength - so we are probably totally wrong.

I admit I was extremely impressed by Angella in the opening minutes as he was very commanding. But can he play four days after getting his head sewn up? It was a nasty gash. I have not read anything on this, but I would not be suprised if he is "rested". Should he play, then super, but I am sure that Hall will feel it is "rough justice".

I'd like to see Faurlin & Toszer given a chance together if fit, aside from the addition of Fer + Sandro when fit this looks to be our best 11.

Whatever team is picked we need to start passing to each other, we were sloppy on Saturday and Forest picked holes in us all over the place...

Yes. And tell Austin to stay in and around the box mobile, and the attacking 3 in midfield to get close to him and make runs into the box. Crosses need to be better too.

Despite their current league position, Blackburn will not be a push-over - appears they were quite unlucky not to get something out of the Fulham game yesterday.

I am sure the ref would notice if we played a 4-4-4 formation.
No need to get carried away with too many changes, same back four (if Angella can play), same forward four and Ale or Doughty in for Henry.
Angela really impressed me, he is going to be immense. Strong in the air and on the deck and confident on the ball. Just what we have been lacking.

Agree with not too many changes and Angella.

Thanks for pointing out my error on the opening post. Of course I meant 4-3-3! I have now changed it in the original post. However, if we did try to play 4-4-4, knowing our luck (or is track record) the ref would "not" notice and we would probably be subsequently punishished by demotion to non-league obscurity.

If Faurlin is fit then his should be the first name on the team sheet.

    I agree.

Not being disrespectful to Nedum Onuoha - but the fellow's got limited leadership qualities.

I'm surprised that Chris Ramsey didn't get Joey Barton to coach and mentor his future replacement on the final few fixtures last season.

That would have been a good succession plan.

It looks like the weather will be foul with heavy rain and a very heavy pitch. I wonder if this will affect the match tactics?

What is the chance that Chris Ramsey may suprise everyone and play 4-4-2 with Austin and Polter up front?

Charlie was most effective with OBZ and a heavy pitch does not favour passing or running with the ball. If we are to play long balls and make crosses, then it would be sensible to provide Charlie with more support (as well as make accurate crosses!)

p.s. An alternative tactic may be be shoot from distance, and we have some firepower upfront!

It seems that Polter is carrying and injury and will not be available. Can anyone else be a foil for Charlie upfront? JET for example?

No, because that would be a return to 4-4-****ing-2!!
