Common concensus Akpom cant play up front on his own. Hernandez obviously cant, weak as piss. Now it seems he cant play wide left, his supposed best position.

Wilson seems very popular but is he what we need? More of a second striker, we've got enough of them.
I've not seen Diomande but i doubt he's a big un up top.

We need a focal point. I know i keep saying it but Carlton Cole. Big strong holds it up and brings others into the game. Everything we've been lacking.

Who else is there? Adebayor's just been released <whistle>

    We definitely need someone.

I never forget that fanzine cover with a pic of Bamber being "marked" after the opposition sussed him out - he was all alone, of course. Think it was On Cloud Seven.

He was good before he joined us. How did it go so wrong?

We've been through plenty of forwards. The best for a while was probably Shane Long. Not prolific but scored a few and just as importantly caused problems for defenders that others could then benefit from. Decent signing. But then he was allowed to leave, and the money spunked on AH. We could and should have said "sorry he's under contract and going nowhere".

We can continue to allow Bruce to sign yet more strikers. That simply masks the problem. It can't be the strikers every time. The root cause is surely Bruce?

Yes the manager is the most pressing weakness at present.

We have no strikers who can play up front alone, but do have strikers who play well as a front two, stick to the right formation and get them some service and we might just be OK

Strikers - our Achilles heel. But we haven't been any better in midfield or defence to be fair.

A legend at Blackpool and looked good in his first couple of games for us as well - a bit unlucky with some sharp efforts. He then went downhill and, as soon as he left (back to Blackpool I think) he started scoring again. He set a trend that we've never quite managed to break.

The players we've already got are more than good enough.

We just aren't getting the best out of them.

Could not agree more all our strikers are not the type to go in were it hurts, they don't hold onto the ball long enough and bring the midfield into play, Deano although not the biggest he could hold onto it and bring others into play something we are lacking. im amazed we have not gone in for Cole unless big Sam has told SB something we don't know

He's in the Blackpool Hall of Fame apparently, but one of the many who were completely useless in a City shirt in front of goal

The 3 players who'll make a big difference to our team, (if Bruce recognizes how to play them together ?) are all injured. Snodgrass, Maloney & Diomande. Cole would be a perfect fit for that threesome, but Hernandez, should he stay, may start to shine with the 3 injured lads on the park. Am I dreaming ?

You'd think for the £10million paid Hernandez would shine regardless of who he is playing with in the Championship, so yes, you might well be dreaming! A new manager might get the best out of the player perhaps

We don't need another striker, we need the ones we have to be stepping up. We have one who has never played in the Championship before (Abel), one who is still very young (Akpom), one who is injured (Diomande) and one who is technically a development player (Luer). At 6 games in, it's a bit soon to be saying we need another one, as yesterday was the first time we've drawn a blank. If the team starts performing better, the strikers will start scoring. Well, that's the theory anyway.

Signing another striker pushes one of the ones already here down the pecking order. We aren't QPR or Derby, we can't just keep signing strikers because we don't like the look of the ones we have. Give the lads time to gel and adjust, let partnerships form and hope to Allah that the midfield start to perform better.

Surprised nobody has gone on about pushing big Harry up front yet, so let me be the first... a bit of a waste of this young fella being benched when he could be the big target man we need sitting there under the radar

Amongst those we don't have one with experience, or one that can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Which is something we are desperately lacking.

It would be interesting to see Big Harry in the reserves up front because he might be an alternative to what we have now having said that he might be useless and may be reads the game better with the play ahead of him but unless he is seen in that position then who knows, I am sure that's what happened with Peter Swan
