All that said, 2 years ago, when Suarez was banging them in from all angles but we were defending like a bunch of clowns, I didn't know if I was coming or going!! <laugh> Seems a long time ago now!
I enjoyed that season more than I have done for years. It didn't bother me at all to let in 3 if we could score 5.
Despite all his biting, falling over and arm-waving- Suarez was a real joy to watch.

Now, if we go behind, I don't see us getting back into a game except by a stroke of luck. :(

He was brilliant to watch, one of the greatest ever football players to put on the shirt.

We have enough talent to get in top 4 with the right manager.

Not saying we have a top 4 squad but someone is always going to **** up and MU have Gaal.

The right manager could get us top 4 this season. Maybe higher.

Top four shouldn't be the aim though

Neither do I but we should still aim for it

I think this is kind of misleading though. Yes, its true if some clubs do aim for the position they want, they might become complacent if they achieve it quite early and start dropping down a la West Ham last season, but I don't think it rings true for us. I know what Shankly said, but that quote is more applicable to archery where you aim above the target, football doesn't work like that. Its not like Burnley would miraculously gain abilities by aiming for the title and jump up 10 places because they aimed higher than simply avoiding relegation. It would probably hamper them because Sean Dyche and the club would be laughed at for saying it and there would be huge pressure on them every week to get a result, even when it isn't necessary, because of the ridiculously high aims set by the manager.

Aim for first and fail, we may still achieve something (aka fourth). Aim for fourth and fail...?

We should always aim for as high as we can no matter what. Expectations are different.

Well. I think the goal should be win every game. No-one aiming for 4th will say "I've got 70 pts, that's enough for champions league, I was aiming for 4th, I'm stopping now."

You set your squad up hoping to win each and every game, you may need to rest some to do that, but you're not fielding a weakened team against #1 just because you think you can't beat them. Go into every game planning to win.

Same time telling Bounemouth to aim for first is unrealistic. They should go into each game planning how to get 3pts but if the board told the manager and players they were aiming for first they'd have an incredulous and reluctant squad who thought they had been told to do the impossible.

Get 3pts against Chelsea... Ok hard but we see it as reasonable goal. Next week get 3 pts against city... Ok here we go... Now aim to win the title cherries... Go **** off chairman of the board!
