What is going on in that picture on the Jake article? Is that the best picture of the ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL they could muster up?
He's a lucky boy IMO.

He is indeed but it's good to see a sympathetic approach being taken with him and I'm sure those on the panel were made aware of more of the details than us.

Glad he's not ruined his career over this.

Reactions: The Changing Man
I hadn't heard about the attack! Are they sure they have the right man?

BBC Website said:
Former Chelsea and Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas, currently serving a six-match ban for attacking a match official, says he will quit as Zenit St. Petersburg boss at the end of the season and claims he was blocked from leaving in the summer.

Villas-Boas has gone off the deep end, it seems, getting sent off in his last league game and then saying he's leaving at the end of the season.
Zenit haven't backed him in the transfer market this season and he doesn't appear to be dealing with it well.
Seems like his English is still in fine working order, though:

"Wake up, man! (Something)... the ball there. Put the ball there, you motherfucker.
Referee, this man has a job to do. Wake up. It's your job, yes? It's your job, yes? It's your job. ****ing pussy!"
<laugh>

I think he's a bit upset. His side went on to lose 3-1.

Apparently that's not the incident that led to his ban, supposedly he left his technical area to shove the fourth official in the chest, but this wasn't caught on camera. It's notable that he accepted accepted his ban without complaint and admitted he was in the wrong, which is something I can't imagine certain other Portuguese managers doing in a millennium of Sundays.

The thing is, some Russian fans probably won't be sorry to see him leave - not because of who he is or how his teams play, but because he's one of the few managers in the Russian Premier League to actually speak out against the racist chants that are depressingly prevalent at certain grounds.

Well good for him if that's the case I take back my earlier snipe at him. <ok>

Sad but true. The former Vice-President of FIFA and head of the Russian FA claiming that monkey chants aren't racist was the "highlight" of that ****e.

Different game, though. Torpedo Moscow v Zenit and everyone denied it, just like the Frimpong one.

Didn't happen. Even though you can clearly hear it on the video.

I like that side of AVB. I would much rather have had that than all the squatting and what-not he did when with us. A few officials in the EPL could do with being called a "****ing pussy" if you ask me

WE have degraded the word **** with such usage let's not degrade Pussy as well.

The thing that always irked me about AVB was how his touchline routine always seemed so choreographed, especially the squatting and celebrations to goals and winning games. It just made it look like he was acting like what he thought a football manager should act like, rather than just being a manager.

Something similar happened when Sammy Lee took over as Bolton manager: he saw Allardyce spending the first half of most home games sat in the stands barking orders through a headset, so he decided he should do the same thing - but the dire results and performances made it look like he was playing manager karaoke rather than being a manager.

This is expensive but i'm considering trying to copy it:

I love that. It seems pretty reasonably priced, really, considering how much labor must have gone into building it.

Think you can do it in under 600 hours, Spurm?

I’m not sure I could. And I know the LEGO secret handshake and the password to unlock their programming language! Not to mention internalized the rule that LEGO has to be all caps...

Oh, I could build and progam a little LEGO robot Kane to score the winner against Arsenal...
