How the **** does she put up with Prince Phillip, oh yeah well done your Maj

Think we may have a few anti Royalists in our midst. :emoticon-0112-wonde

I for one am pro the Queen, has done loads for this country and the majority of it is missed by the anti monachy lot. We could do with stopping financially supporting SOME of the others though

I am completey ambivalent, it's quite nice to keep something of history going, but it ****s us up constitutionally. Good for her, but I wouldn't wish the core royals lives on anyone - born into a fishbowl, no choice.

Queen Elizabeth II will become Britain's longest reigning monarch tomorrow when her reign, which began 63 years and seven months ago at the age of 25, continues.

Congrats and good health to her Maj! <cheers>

Yes, even we convicts appreciate her .......... well, this one does anyway.
Over here, the old chestnut, 'let's be a Republic' gets trotted out every couple of years but I'm firmly in the 'long live the Queen / Commonwealth' brigade, always have been.
History and the value of it, is most important.

You wonder how such a dedicated and exceptional lady could have produced some of her half-wit children. Still, she has been an exemplary monarch and deserves all the plaudits coming her way...

You only have to look at the father ......... here are a couple of classic quotes.

1981
During the recession he mused: “Everybody was saying we must have more leisure. Now they are complaining they are unemployed."

1986
He told a World Wildlife Fund meeting that "if it has got four legs and it is not a chair, if it has got two wings and flies but is not an aeroplane and if it swims and it is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it."
and
While on an official visit to China, he told a group of British exchange students living in the city of Xian: "If you stay here much longer you'll all be slitty–eyed."

1994
"Aren't most of you descended from pirates?", he asked an islander in the Cayman Islands.

To a Caribbean rabbit breeder in Anguilla, he said: "Don't feed your rabbits pawpaw fruit — it acts as a contraceptive. Then again, it might not work on rabbits."

......... and of course, some top shelf stuff ...........

1995
He asked a Scottish driving instructor in Oban: "How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to pass the test?"

not to be outdone .............

2002
To Australian Aborigines during a visit to Australia with the Queen he asked: "Do you still throw spears at each other?"

2012
When meeting a 60-year-old disabled man: "How many people have you knocked over this morning on that thing?" David Miller, a trustee of the Valentine Mansion in Redbridge, said he took no offence.

and one more for good measure .............

"If it doesn't fart or eat hay then she isn't interested"
- speaking about his daughter, Princess Anne.

Love it ............. long live the Monarchy.
