The jockey that day was a first cousin twice removed of our Jamie Spencer. Frank I think he was called!

No complaints with Duck Al'orange as Frank gave the horse every chance for a change and travelled well but beaten fair and square by the winner, who did it well. Would have been 2nd without interference and looks one for the notebook.

Maybe not then, think jockey will be annoyed with himself after that. Frustrating when you get boxed in, in a 6 horse race.

I think Simmanka 11/4 should prove a tough nut to crack in Galway's 5.35. She has ran into some nice types and the 3rd from her race LTO at Tippereary has come out and won since.

Bobailin, the joint fave is all but a winner as she was D/Q after bumping Dancing On Air significantly toward the finish at Gowran the last day but i feel Simmanka should prove a step above these lot.

Just read this story on the SportingLife.com Racing News section that Forum favourite Time Test might be making the trip over to Longchamp this Sunday for the Prix Du Moulin; although if they are hoping for fast ground they might have to think again.

Mr Charlton would perhaps have been better advised to wait until Wednesday’s first forfeit stage before commenting as that will narrow his 25 potential opponents down considerably. They can expect Toormore to defect as he ran in Turkey on Sunday but O’Brien will leave Gleneagles in as an alternative to Leopardstown.

Phew, jut about got it done and finally broke her maiden tag. The main threat came from the other Aga Khan filly Rayisa who was well supported before the off similarly to the winner of the first maiden in the same colours Ebediyin, who looked very smart and is bred in the purple.

Weld on fire at Galway, read all about it!

<grrrrr> Beat a head by the stablemate who I knew was the danger! Lack of racing experience told there, just caught a replay was a fair old ding dong battle all the way up the straight to the line.

Yes, I watched it live. It was touch and go with experience (probably) just telling. The 3rd finished like a train after looking out of it. Must have made up at least 6l in the last 200 yards

A little close for comfort in both games but well done. Ireland dominated the 2nd half and got a nice goal after a good run down the left by Hendricks who squared for Walters. Ze Germans took care of the Scots too in what must have been an entertaining game for a neutral.

A race of Spencers that always springs to mind. A 3 runner race and Spencer on the fav had the width of the track to pass on and clipped the lead horse and fell. You had to see it to believe it........................ then you say the jockeys name <doh>

Didn't manage to see either game but happy with the results although was expecting it to be a little easier. I actually think England are a good bet tonight at 4/5 also
