I think that is quite a realistic article....in fact he could almost be writing about us regarding being seen as a stepping stone club, not able to attract truly top players because of wages and being outside top 4. He is far more realistic than most of their fans who still see them as a powerhouse. I don't know enough about Spurs to know if they are any good at bringing youngsters through (never heard it mentioned though), but I do know it's getting harder for youngsters to break through at Saints at the moment. This would have been hidden if we still had the ex-Academy players that have been wrenched from our loving bosom by top sides. We've hit a bit of a hiatus, but I hope we will have more that are good enough in the future.
 
I thought last season was a strange one and we missed our opportunity by not finishing off strongly, but I think this season could also be unexpected. We just have to step up and do well and possibilities are there.

It was more the complete disregard for other clubs that annoyed me. OK, just the disregard for us. If you believed that article then they are the only club in that position and the only club developing young players.
