Great result. Poor performance but with the huge pressure and nerves etc it was expected. I'll happily take another boring performance Sunday if it means we win <party>
 
I think we'll finish second in the group though - can see a defeat away to Bosnia Hercegovina.
 
Cyprus are at the stage where they had to win their home games to have any chance of qualification and Coleman and the players knew fully well they would be under the cosh. It was all about stopping cyprus last night and banking on a break away goal than going all out ourselves. We needed to defend well and we did and as the game was getting closer to finishing cyprus had no choice but to leave gaps to try and get the win they desperately need, that left the gate open to finally get the goal. Coleman's game plan of defensive play worked and we got the win.......It was far from pretty but it was effective...

Defensive play? Ramsey popped one just over the bar, we had a goal disallowed, Taylor missed from six yards and we should have had a penalty - and that was just in the first half!

Wales Under-21s Win As Well

Wales under-21s kept up their 100 per cent record in their 2017 European Championship qualifying campaign with a 3-1 victory in Luxembourg this evening.


Newport-born Lee Evans and Ellis Harrison both started but it was Bristol City's Wes Burns who led the way with a brace of goals either side of half-time.

Harry Wilson scored Wales' other goal, while Dejvid Sinani claimed a consolation for the hosts deep in time added on.
 
Fabianski And Eder In International Action

Two more Swans were in international duty tonight with Lukasz Fabianski in goal for Poland against Germany and Eder starting up front for Portugal in their friendly against next summer's hosts France.


There was little joy for Fabianski as his Poland side were beaten 3-1 in their game with a goal from Müller and two from Götze, Lewandowski responded for the Poles.

The win saw Germany leapfrog Poland at the top of the table but with Poland facing Gibraltar on Monday then Fabianski should keep alive his hopes of being in France next summer although a crux double header is next month when they face Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.

Meanwhile Eder played the full 90 minutes but was unable to find the net for Portugal as they were beaten 1-0 by France thanks to a late goal from Valbuena
