How in the hell are Wales ranked above England in the rankings!? When was the last time they took part in a major tournament?!

Tactical use of the ranking system, much the same way Switzerland were seeded for the World Cup last year. Basically friendly games dilute the FIFA ranking, and qualifiers are worth something like triple the points, so the fewer friendlies a nation plays, and if they have a strong qualifying campaign, the ranking won't get watered down. Wales played no more than one friendly in the twelve month period used for ranking, whilst we probably played four or five. Romania have benefitted from doing this as well, pretty smart actually.

After all the hype on Talksport about How good Wales, Scotland and whatever Ireland it is are, and gonna all qualify. See Scotland lost 1-0. Was a bit surprised. Looked at the team. Martin and Whittaker on the bench. I don't like Whittaker at right back for us, or Martin at CB for us...But this is Scotland! They are more than good enough for them. Drop them at your Peril!

Germany's first goal was class. Like Arsenal, but with a finish. Second goal was well taken. Very unlike Germans...Very efficient!

I've been surprised by Shelvey, good first touch and an eye for a through ball!

He was alright, but stick Howson in and he'd look as good against them.

Shelvey has deserved a call up for years. One of few players in England that can actually pick out a creative pass.

Shelvey is an excellent player and I couldn't believe some of the comments on here when there were rumours of us spending £5m a couple of years ago as to me that would have been fantastic business. I think he's class personally, and it didn't take his performance against a bunch of complete no-hopers to convince me of that.

Have you seen what the Welsh are calling their cup competition?

It's the nearest they'll get to the World cup! ;)

All the Hype like Rooney will score and we will win. I don't think either is a certainty. I wouldn't be surprised with no Rooney goal and a draw tonight.

After saying that,I forgot some of the players they have.Shaqiri and Rodriguez are amazing players. Schar is class, as is Lichtsteiner, then holding midfielders of Behrami and Inler....With agood manager, they could be really solid.
