I’d go for a. as a first choice, a 4-3-3 with (second choice) midfield of Bentaleb, Carroll and Alli, and a front three of Lamela/Onomah, Clinton and Pritchard. A first choice team minus Kane might be Dier, Mason and Dembélé behind Son, Chadli and Eriksen. We should try this in the first Europa game to see how it goes, because it might go well. The problem with b is that we don’t have anyone who can hold the ball up other than Kane, with the possible exception of Chadli. The Stoke game was not a fair test, I think. The problem with c. is whether we can get anyone good enough to be better than option a. As I say, I don’t know if Ade is an option, but... The only youth striker we have is Coulthirst. If we thought he was good enough, he’d still be with the squad. He’ll be available in November, and we should take him back, I think, if only to serve as a late sub. My only quibble with any of this is that I consider Berahino a bullet dodged.
I know MacDonald famously scored 5 goals in a game and was then dropped against one of the minnows never to score again, but not sure what that has to do with Kane getting his confidence back?
Sorry Spurm I admit my post was almost as obscure as hbic (No offence intended) Thoughts: San Marino ah! Kane comes on and scores 5 goals and becomes SuperKane. Oh yes MacDonald scored 5 against Cyprus and became SuperMac.
From a Spurs point of view i'd be ecstatic if Kane scored 5, maxed out his confidence and then never had to play for England again
Its not nice watching football just hoping for a particular player not to go down in a painful mess. I used to enjoy watching England, but its just died.
Nah, Rooney will play in order to add to his tally of caps and goals. Have you forgotten that the England team is all about Rooney? How dare you!
Marvin Sordell is available... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...act-former-golden-boy-suffers-fall-grace.html
I hope he is. After the way he's dicked us around, I'd drag the ****er out to darkest Azerbaijan, or wherever, even if it was just to freeze his arse off sitting on a bench!
Everyone still vaguely Adebayoring. If named, he will definitely be "injured" the week before the Europa away leg in Azerbaijan. And probably also any League Cup away tie Spurs may get against a lower league club. The other two Europa away legs he may decide to get up off his arse for.
I wonder what the hell went wrong there? He looked pretty decent for a while. Sign him up, stick him in the Europa League, get him scoring and then sell him in January!
Or offer him in a swap for Berahino on the last day of the Jan window so Peace can't say he didn't have a replacement!
