There once was a fan called Ken Airey
Who wanted the best for his team,
So much so that at each Transfer Window time
He would always have the same dream

"Please let us keep all our best players
And sell off all of our dead wood,
At such a good price, so all manner of stars
    Will descend upon Carrow Rud"

That really can´t be that much to ask
    And surely easy to achieve,
Now that we´re a Premier League side full of cash
It ought to be simple to weave

But oh! oh! argh! argh! what frustration
As each year his dream fell apart,
It always seemed to him as if other teams
Already had made a head start...

...and nipped in to pick up a target
Who would have been well suited here,
Just because we dallied and fiddled around
Before we had our chequebook clear

But hang on a sec´ Mr. Airey
You´re living in dream land you know,
In the real world not much does go to plan
As year after year, transfers show

Even those clubs far more wealthy
Who might expect deals to go through,
Find they can´t just click their fingers these days
To make their transfer dreams come true

    Now, with such inflated prices
    And players demanding the earth,
    It´s far from easy identifying
Someone who will then prove his worth

We know too well, to our own cost
Just how things can quickly backfire,
Big reputations and big transfer fees
Doesn´t guarantee they won´t be dire

So although you may feel deflated
That we´ve missed the boat once again,
This season´s yet to get out of first gear
So wait awhile to judge, Mr. Ken. OTBC - INIT

I´m sure there´s a little of Ken Airey in all of us, there certainly is in me, but we´ve proved we can survive plenty of Transfer Windows before, so why not again?

Well done RBF, a little bit of humour and an awful lot of common sense! No team has ever been relegated after just 4 games!

Not as satisfactory a window as most (nay all) of us would have wished for, Dave, but certainly no way of knowing yet, whether it will turn out to be quite as disastrous as many are predicting - my glass still considerably half full.

Hi skald bor, "dallied and fiddled" not exactly the choice of words I would have chosen, something a bit stronger and somewhat nearer the truth !!!

This coming game against Bournemouth will provide an answer to how we have progressed since last season. We beat the Cherries away and drew at home, this coming result will give some indication as to how both clubs have progressed since then.

Regards to the missus and Muttley.

Sorry NORKIE - don´t really know whether W,L or D next time out will necessarily prove anything, other than current form and current club climate, which hopefully isn´t quite as frosty as some are suggesting.
