KIO, Northampton, RiverendRick et al, I apologise for upsetting you all but it amazes me how you blame Delia, DM and AN because we didn't get the players YOU wanted without knowing the reasons behind all the comings and goings, you automatically blame everyone at the club just because their valuations don't correspond with yours.

Please, let's stay calm and give the lads and the manager a chance to show us what they can do!

    From BBC gossip column!

Norwich City midfielder Gary O'Neil expressed his frustration about the transfer window after it closed on Tuesday. "Let's hope they change the transfer window next year - so it closes before a ball is kicked! Caused absolute chaos at too many clubs," the 32-year-old tweeted

I thought Matt Jarvis on loan was a joke. Just woken up this morning to see it confirmed. He might be alright, he can definitely cross and is alright at running at defenders. Guessing he'll be on the bench when MO and Brady are fit. It's just when we have known for a few seasons we need a quality CB and a striker who will take chances. To come out of it with an average winger on loan is really disappointing.

Naismith would have been a decent signing, a typical AN player. No idea why they left bidding until the last minute.

Just been listening to Radio Four talk about the spectacular 'buying power' of British Premier League Clubs in Europe and how allegedly attractive it is to quality foreign players.Obviously the reporters have never been anywhere near this site have they!

So transfer window closes and our strongest XI is improved a bit, but I would say squad depth remains much the same. Starting team improvements seem to be mainly in midfield where arguably we had the greatest depth too. Would have been delighted to see CB reinforcement come in but unlike many others I'm comfortable with our strike force we have. Just wish we had a game to look forward to on Sat to take everyone's mind off this transfer window "madness".

Yes... unless the player has a love of history and tractors it must be difficult to sell Norwich to them.

There are plenty of players that are good in the lower leagues maybe we are best to keep having a punt on a few each year, even if two or three make it we still win.

Really would have liked a new central defender!

Absolutely spot on. Clearly some sort of after-thought, brought in to try and appease those fans apoplectic about Bradders leaving. (After a night's kip, I can see the logic in selling BJ, from NCFC's viewpoint and the player's - assuming it was not forced on him, Aslley Ward / Jon Newsome style <yikes>)
And canary Dave, all well and good you defending the gaffer / CEO in all this, but they've had since May 25th to get their arses in gear - so why are we bidding for Gayle with an hour of deadline day left when he turned down a similar bid from Bristol City over a month ago because he wanted to stay in the top flight?
Pathetic and 'delinquent' the handling of this window. As amateur as anything I've seen the club do (apart from offloading AW and JN as mentioned above)

I'd be offering Seb a new contract pronto incorporating a sizeable bonus for staying injury-free all season.

So maybe the fall out is over!!! My interpretation is that the club have been trying to bring players in for several months (in addition to the continual scouting system) several offers were made to clubs , which if accepted would have broken our transfer record (based on some the rumours not facts) and they didn't succeed, several players were probably outside our wage structure and maybe did not want to come to a club that they envisaged might be struggling for survival this season. However, a few players have come in that fit AN's approach and offloaded /sold a few players that didn't fit as well to his plans, all to the good of the club overall. Seems entirely reasonable to me.

Best will in the world, how the hell can releasing Cuellar and Miquel and sending Turner out on a season long loan be construed as 'reasonable'? If anything, it's kamikaze - or will be if Martin or Seb pick up a major knock or get suspended, both of which are more than likely over a season!

Wisdom can play as a centre back plus Bennett both I suspect are seen as better cover than the players than the players that have gone.

    Honeymoon(s) are over.

The reality of being back in the PL seems to have smacked quite a few of the members of this forum right on their chops. It's a harsh league - it was for the previous three seasons we were here - and it still is, more so.

It's harsh because the numbers might seem vast - but when a promoted club like Norwich have to break them down into a realistic plan and goals for the season, we don't have very deep pockets - rnot elative to other PL clubs anyway.

Probably a fair few clubs lower down the league would love to be able to bring in Dorrans, Mulumbu, Brady, Wisdom, Jarvis and Mbokani. Judging by the responses - not good enough for many of our supporters. Harsh.

Harsh because when any team gets promoted certain players might quickly find themselves right down the pecking order. Bradders was never my favourite player, but I'm bloody delighted he had such an amazing season and finished POTS. I wish we could have left it like that and then moved him on, but that's football. Harsh.

Most importantly the club hasn't been reckless. We don't need to jeopardise our entire future by putting all our eggs into the basket that might keep us up, or might not. The list of clubs who have ruined themselves in that desperate and often futile project is long - and harsh. Harsh most of all for the fans of those clubs who had big dreams that became their worst nightmare.

Our squad is arguably stronger than our last season in the PL - and I reckon we have some wriggle room to strengthen in January.

Honeymoon is over - let's enjoy the football.

I don't disagree that our squad is a bit stronger. I don't disagree that some of the players we have brought in have been very good acquisitions.

But I'm afraid I cannot understand how anyone can say they are happy with the transfer business we've done this summer, when it seems pretty obvious to me that even the club management aren't! Neil voiced his frustration earlier this month and we were trying to complete a number of deals that fell through at the end, so clearly the club had other ideas.

And I should think so - it's all very well pointing to our improvements, but all clubs have improved. Of course, it might be absolutely fine and we might do brilliantly, but that still won't change the fact that this summer has not gone as the club's management clearly intended, let alone as many fans hoped.

I do agree that we can't automatically point the finger at McNally and co. - a lot of it was out of their hands and I for one simply don't know the background detail

Easier said than done with such a threadbare defence and a striker still on the books who goes walkies whenever the mood takes him? Hard for some to summon much optimism given the tenuous position we are in as a top flight club.
