What do we think of the Stones and Pogba rumours this morning?

Finances aside, they would be very exciting additions to the squad obviously and long term additions as well.

Pogba would probably be everyone's first choice midfield signing to play with Matic and would give us one hell of a midfield. 60 million seems a lot but possible make weights with Ramieres and/or Cuadrado (as they seem interested in both) would reduce the outlay and perhaps sweeten the deal.

Probably just paper nonsense though and expect Juve to come out saying he is not for sale / we've had no bids within 24 hours!

Stones rumours gathering pace but isn't it all getting a bit expensive?

yeah probably paper crap.
But if we got Pogba and he cost £60m, I think Rambo, Mikel AND Cuadrado should ALL go, to offset some of that cost.
We could get £40m+ for those three easy

Rambo £12m
Mikel £15m
Cuadrado £15m
for example

Will be very surprised if someone pays more than 5M pounds for Mikel.
Other than that this is a viable option. 2 deadwoods + Rambo should fetch 30M pounds.
We can pay 30M cash + 3 players easily for Pogba.

This is what I love about NBA, NFL,MLB, multi player, multi team trades.

I don't even think Pogba is worth 60m. But I can't see them letting Vidal, Pirlo and Pogba all go in the same window.

I suppose if we are getting linked with midfielders at least it shows we are looking at one.

The problem with giving away so many players to get Pogba would again be lack of squad depth which seemed to effect us last season. I think there are good options out there who are a lot cheaper.

Kenedy from Fluminese is officially Chelsea player.
Hope he gets some game in the first team.

I think Pogba in a 30M deal plus Cuadrado and Ramires would be awesome business. But I expect Juve want Oscar or Willian

Getting Cuadrado out is no problem as we have signed Pedro. Pogba would replace Ramires and if we do lose Oscar then Fabregas goes forward on occasion and RLC gets a better chance of games. Much prefer we lose Ram/Mikel and Cuadrado although Willian and Oscar, even Fabregas would not be happy with lesss gametime you would expect.

Pogba-Matic
Pedro-Fabregas-Hazard with Willian/Oscar able to come in and not diminish the strrength of our time would be good for us.

No Stones then, who is next on the list?

EVERTON TO REJECT STONES REQUEST
Roberto Martinez has now confirmed to the media that Everton will reject John Stones' transfer request in the morning.

Garay from Zenit. He's 28 but should be much cheaper. Stones is good but he isn't worth anything over 30M.

Michael Hector is a bizarre signing IMO. Can't say he's particularly stood out when I've seen him and he's at an age where you'd be expecting him to play if he ever does. Still, nice to see a top four side taking a chance on a young English player.

Mike is loaned back to Reading for the season. So it is just Papy then.

At this rate, cannot see Jose continuing. I will hate to see him go again, but it looks inevitable.
Jose for the past 4 games is on self destruct mode, playing to our weakness perfectly.
Who will be our new manager?

That awful game at Etihad has hand delivered the title already to City.
How poor was my predo of us retaining the league. CL lottery is our only hope!! Di Matteo x 2 anyone?

Klipperty Klopp?

may be too early, but Klopp's replacement is winning every game for fun with 3 or 4 goals margin.
Bundes liga - one club league way worse than La Liga - 2 club league.
Difficult to rate / predict exports from these leagues.

BTW EPL looks like 1 club league, this season.

I would have no issues getting klopp. I think hes a quality manager who plays an attacking style of football. He had a really poor year last year but managed to get over it. I think he just went a bit stale and last his hunger having all his players nicked.

We know he likes to attack and I'm up for a manager who will try to create a dynasty

I have a feeling Klopp will be able to choose between quite a few English clubs if he wants to come here.
